Ok to unclutter the forum and help on peoples questions on fitment of wheels, im starting this thread for people to post what size/offset wheels they have and if they clear there brake setup(if not stock) and if it clears their suspension(if not stock). I think this would be a good way to do it, post pics too if at all possible, this should help everyone.....

ill start with my temporary wheels.......
Old School 280zx Turbo Swastikas 15x6 +12 offset
They wont clear z brakes but they would coilovers

Great Thread! this could be a valuable resource if everyone posts their wheel fitment.

All I can contribute is '02 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV wheels 17x7 +47ish offset.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid82/p7bbe2f1746a121e80e760f6ce9e026e6/fae8b2ab.jpg

worse brake clearance than stock 7 spokes, also less suspension clearance.

R33 GTR 17x9 +30 (will clear Z/R32.3.4 brakes, etc..) (WILL NOT clear JIC FLT-A2 without 5mm spacer).
FN01RC 17x9 +15 (everything)

WHAT I RUN, since it is different:

17x9 +10 (20mm spacer on GTR wheels, 5mm on FN01RCs) all around
215/40/17 F
215/45/17 R, sometimes 225/45/17 (on the UGLYASS 5Zigens)

This is on PS13 COUPE (yeah thats right... 180sx what?) with stock fenders (rolled and slightly pulled)

GOOD pics will be posted once i take them. Old pics suck cause its not this current setup (diff. tire sizes).

I have some 15x7 Riken Meshs with a 0 offset, I have some crazy oldschool 15x7 with a -2 offset, Ill get pics ones summer comes, Also all my wheels clear coilovers, but non of them clear the brakes. Ill more than likley get some K1s for the front if I ever get bigger brakes, and just rock a spacer.

Dirty D, you forgot to say that in most of those pics you were running a (30mm?) spacer with your Kosei's. 15x7 +27 is not that FLUSH even though it clears brakes and coils...

And also, you have 17x9 +10 (copycat) up front right now. 5mm spacer cause Tein HE's have teh suck collar design...

For drift, I use my R32 GTS-T's, 16x6.5 +40 with 205/55ZR16 Falkens

Both wheels clear my 30mm Z32 brakes and both clear coilovers, without spacers for brakes or coils.

215/45 tire did not rub in front but my new 235/45's do. This is on TEIN S Techs and KYB AGX.
Pretty sure they will clear Z brakes since Mark has the same spec wheels and clears. But, I'm 100% sure they clear q45 brakes.

I had to remove the lining inside the front wheel well and move the wiring that runs inside wheel well because the tires were eating it. SO, one piece of plastic removed and a ziptie later no more rubbing. Here's a pic of how the wheel looks like on the backside.

15*7 +5 205/55/15 clears coilovers but not even stock brakes up front. Rear clears brakes and coilovers, need to roll fenders or mucho camber to clear fenders (f/r).

15*8.5 ~+20 205/60/15 clears coilovers and brakes rear, probably won't clear anything other than coilovers front.

16*8 +36 205/55/16 clears brakes f/r clears coilovers R but needs 5mm spacer to clear coilovers front. Fenders no problem.

how can people get away with this setup? My 9 inch SSR GT1's rub in the rear. I ran KYB AGX's with sustec springs which dropped it 1.8 in the front and 1.6 in the rear. I assume the rate was wrong because it blew my drivers side rear shock. I put my stock rear springs in and had it aligned with no camber + or - and my shock set on 8 it'll still rub under hard cornering. And I see people running 9.5's and 10's thats nuts. Why cant my car be normal and just work?

edit: Front fenders NOT ROLLED, DO NOT RUB. 205/55/16 tires.
Rear... thinking about it, must be closer to +5 offset... if not +/-0. It's hard for any positive offset 8.5" wheel to rub in the rear, esp. since I have rolled fenders!!

it's because you're probably running 255/40 or 275/35 tires or something ridiculously (and most likely UNNECESSARILY) fat like that. people who run 9" wheel with +10 offset and DON'T rub have rolled fenders and run 215/45 tires. :)

I understand that on a KA 255's are quite overkill. but I bought these wheels and tires around an SR20DET that I'm having installed by Enjuku racing. With the right tuning the budget I'm looking to spend will net me around 350-400RWHP Then 255's will hopfully be the ticket. But regardless of whatever setup I have under the hood they'll still rub. Honestly before I adjusted the rear camber they hit inside the wheel closer to the body. Once I pulled them out they hit that lip thats on the outer part of the fender well. I have a 38mm offset wheel. Maybe since I'm in the market for new tires, go with a narrower tire and a shorter profile? Or keep the 255's and a spacer. and not too sound like too much of a noob but what exactly is rolling the fenders?

255s are probably overkill even for an SR with bolt-ons! Maybe when you have 400hp it'll be of use... but before then, I don't think they're giving you anything but slow acceleration...
I've not heard of wheels rubbing the chassis side of the rear fender well, that sounds REALLY scary... but rubbing the inside of the fender is normal; you just want to make sure it's noto cutting into the side wall of the tire. That's why we roll fenders. You can search on the forum, there've been a lot of threads. Try the FAQ forum. Basically there's a lip on the inside of the fender that gets in the way of your wheels when they're wide and have low offsets. You take a heat-gun and hammer to this lip, and flatten it out so that you have more room for the tire/wheel.
Until you reach your magical 400hp number, I'd recommend 205s and 215s on a KA, and then maybe 215-235 on the SR, depending on when you get it and how much power you have.

If I had 17*9 +38 wheels with 255 tires on them, I'd swap it out for a 205/45/17 (or 215/40/17) and throw a 20 or 25mm bolt on spacer on there, too. But that's just me under my Pink Godzira influence. :whip:

Lets keep this thing alive, bump for a good thread. lets try to make this alot easier to read though lets develop some sort of format to posting your sizes

car? (ex s13)
full wheel size + offset (ex 17x9 +20 all around)
Tire size (ex. 235-45-17)
fitment modifications (ex widebody rears, rolled/pulled fenders, etc.)
Coilover / brake clearance (what kind of coilovers do you have and what brakes are you running?)

( i used my plans for when i buy my wheels he he)

Could a mod clean up this thread a little bit? This is awesome information and its great to have around to help cut down will this fit threads. keep em comin guys!

If you aren't planning on rolling your fenders, don't even think about it. Why don't you want to roll them? What's the big deal? I would suggest pulling the rear as well. Sam from JSPEC let me borrow some wheels for the drift comp last weekend. They were southern ways mesh at 15x7.5 +4 with 195/55 and they stuck out beyond the fender. I hammered the lip of the fender in and was running -1.75 degrees camber and they worked without rubbing. Your are going to stick out another 9mm and be sporting wider tires. You are screwed unless you want to run more than -4 degrees camber. Or you could always go mexicali style rubbing the whole way. Might wanna run a wheel spacer to get them beyond the fender. AHAHA

the lower the offset the larger the the lip will be.
7" wide +40 offset = no lip
7" wide 0 offset = 2" inch or so
7" wide -20 offset = big lip but requires wide fenders.

Also, it depends on the design of the rim.

I didn't want to roll or pull the fenders because if it's not done right, it would look horrible, and if I decide to run normal wheels later on, the pulled fenders would look awkward. I don't mind running camber as long as it's not over exaggerated, besides how functional is -4 degrees camber for daily driving? also, I found the same wheels in 15x7 with a +32 offset. If I run the 205/55 tires on these rims, how tucked would they be? Thanks for the input.

-4 degrees camber is HORRIBLE for daily driving and for track driving. I think a few 86 guys run that much up front but those cars are pure track drift whores. Also, rolling your fenders doesn't change the look of your car at all. I did it with a hammer on a hot day. Just bash that lip flat and enjoy having 10mm more clearance. Preferably, you don't want to run as much camber in the back as the front so pulling would be a plus if you ran such a low offset.

As for the 15x7 +32, flushness will depend on how much camber you are running. Even on stock camber they will be sunken in so don't be expecting flushness if you get them. http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html Use this website and do all your measurements on your own. Find pics of people's cars and find out their alignment and wheel specs. This will help you out a lot.

I hope they are half decent shape since I paided the 963 for the used rims. Im dont car about scratches, but I would hate to repair a bent rim. I will make a post when they arrive.

Roja formula 5's
F: 18x8 +23 225/40/18 = Apex N1 pro camber plates maxed out as much as it can go, need to roll fenders and 215/40 would be better.

R: 18x9 +23 225/40/18 = too much camber, need to roll and maybe pull fenders

Pix are with out rolled fenders....

will you need to roll the fenders with the ssr mesh or enkei mesh if im gonna run coilovers? also will they clear the z brakes with 20 mm spacers? thanks

07-20-2004, 06:35 AM
Yeah, this thread is back...and I'm over a 1,000 posts! :w00t:

will you need to roll the fenders with the ssr mesh or enkei mesh if im gonna run coilovers? depends on the offset, width of the rim, tires size and camber that your running. Having wheels that clear coilovers does not mean that you will have to roll your. Once again it will depend on what I said above.

about clearing Z brakes...I have no idea. If you want to upgrade your brakes and get mesh wheels without running crazy spacers you could get Q45 brakes.

New tires coming soon. Very soon before they blow up on me! (right JAAE86? heh) I don't think 245 Azenis will fit...so 225 it will be. The 225/45/17 a046s (evo tire) up front have about a 10mm amount of clearence between the strut's coil-mount. Yes, I'm guess-timating this measurement.

Edit: I'm hoping some z32 brakes on Z-tuner brackets will fit well up front.

i have 17x 8 Regamasters with an effective +30 offset. They are forged and weigh 12.7 lbs each, im running Dunlop Fm901's up front with a 215/45 and i got come corvette tires for cheap so im using them out back. not the greatest sizes but they were only 10 bucks a tire with 60% tread left so i couldnt pass em up. they are 225/50's Potenza RE92's.

I LOVE my setup. i have Z32 brakes all around, and am about to buy some SPL coilovers. I know they will clear fine. Im getting the coilovers fitted for S14 for the fronts because i converted to 5 lug with S14 stuff including LCA's, and im getting the rears fitted with Z32 lower mounts so i can use the aluminum uprights from the Z32 for added unsprung weight savings.

I cant believe the difference the lightweight wheels made. I can get the tires spinning easier now that before when i had crappy ass tires on a 15in wheel. It really makes no logical sense; the fact that i have wider and much better tires now but can break them loose easier?? Weird but true. i have shitty open diff and stock clutch too, which i hate. I absolutely love the wheels though, they dont look all flashy so they wont get stolen but they are really flush with the fender. the 225's are fitted perfect on the 8in wheel while the 215's have a little stretch, it looks really good.

I dont have alignment specs yet as i am finishing putting all this stuff on by friday, then ill know my exact specs but im thinking of putting -2.2 or so front camber and -1.2 rear. caster will be set with my adj TC rods, and toe i will try and get as straight as possible for now, I need to read more on toe settings before i mess with that.

Is anyone running 16x8 on an s14? I figure pretty much as low offset as possible would work easily, but whats a good tire size realistically? I don't need super contact patch on a stock KA, i just want some super light wheels, increase tire size w/o having to go for more expensive 17in tires

Volk makes the TE37 in 16x8.5 actually...with like +15 i think...can i can slap on what..235/40/16?!

i think the 235 40 would fit the back but if your running that tire size in the front its going to hit the shock unless you have dampers or coilovers. But 16x8.5 is niiiice. i currently run on 16x7 -15 in the front with 205/55/16 tires and then look flush. I think with the 16x8.5 it'll stick out a lil but it'll look sick.
If i was going to run 16x8.5 i'd prolly go with 215/40/ with the 8.5's. Or if you don't want the stretch go with 215/45. I dont know just my thoughts.

Sorta bringing this thread back.

I've got 17x7 FN10R-C in a crappy offset (+35, I think) (x8s won't clear my front coilovers...) From what I've seen, other rims in similar sizes and offsets clear fine, but, I need to know, can anyone provide solid info as to whether these rims will clear Z brakes? If not, I need to start looking for a cheap pair of rims for the front....

hi guys, i went through all the pages in this thread and i think i got the right offset that i need for my soon to be new gramlights 57pro for my s13. Just wanted to make sure that these sizes would fit gp sports gr-6 coil-overs and stock fenders that havent been rolled/pulled.
f= 18x8 +23 or +30 i would be running 215/40/18
r= 18x9.5 +30 i would be running either 225 or 235/40/18.

anyone think that i will have any problems?

PS: I have stock brakes right now, but in the future im planning on upgrading the front brakes to a big brake kit probably by endless or rotora.

specs are: ADR Sterling 18x9.5"+25 all around with 13mm spacers all around
215/40-18 front 235/40-18 rear

still rub a tad on the inner fender, but basically to get them to work good i had to:

- pull and roll the front and rear fenders
- bang flat all pinch welds in the front fenders
- relocate the harness
- relocate the brake line brackets
- was still rubbing at full lock drifting, so i notched the fenders, plan on going another inch lower anways, i want the rear fender to be about level with the top of the wheel lip to give an idea
- also, the wheel hits the frame or tension rod at full lock because of the Tein tie rods so expect that too

When he said good luck, he was being sarcastic. You will have a hard time fitting the 205 on a 10j wheel. I would at least go with a 225 or 235. It will still be stretched and plenty flush, but a lot easier to mount. Regardless, you will have to roll and most likely pull the fenders as posted above. A good friend of mine runs 225/40 and 245/40 on his 18x9/10 combo. Looks great.

And just to stay on topic, I will be running 18x8.5 +25 and 18x9.5 +25 sometime in the next few weeks I hope. (S13)

I think this was posted late 2004
I ended up getting
17x9 + 15
18x10 +25
The +15 was shit and so is the 9inch width it looks cool but who gives a fuck about flushness. When you want your car on the ground heha and kinda function with out eating your fender when you reverse. It rubbed the coilover so i had to add 10mm spacer so i can get some savage negative camber in there to tuck the wheel in the fender..
anyways it should have been a 17x9 + 5 for any one who wants a flush wheel on stock fenders. (requires full negative camber. Factory and Pillowball) To be low you will need a 215/40 or 45R17. Im going with a 215/40 to get it on the ground, this needs relocation of wiring harness on driver side!

18x10 pretty good size(235/45/18, easy to smoke, nice ride) Flush with no fender Pull... pulling fenders is a gay trend and its getting out of hand.
Being the ricer i was i pulled my fenders in 2003 to fit my gay 300zx tt wheels with 25mm spacers.

18x10+25 will rub inner fender with stock camber pulled straightest possible.
I recommend an 18x10+15 for flushness and minor rolled and pulled fender.

copy and paste the link to get pics of what my car looks like with 6mm spacers all round

14x6 +10 Datsun 280Z wheels
195/70/14 dirt/gravel tires

Also picked up a pair of 14x7 +8 Celica Supra wheels
they clear stock brakes/suspension
hub size was too small and needed to be enlarged on a lathe

tire is 225/45. With my power right now, I LOVE 225/45/17's.

I love it when I put 18's on the rear cause the lip of the wheel is at the fender, and I tuck driving around. SOOOO hot. I need some 18's for the rear. 17/18 stagger is the sex.

17x8 +31 f 17x9+44 with five millimeter spacer in rear discontinued volk racing progressiv 2's will clear stock coilovers and brakes may clear z brakes cuz theyres a lil bit of clearance left but ive been told that with those offsets they will not clear coilovers

I was wondering how will these fit on an s13 17x9 15 offset front, 17x10 25 offset rear
im planning on going with these with 205 tires

im running similar wheel sizes, so you can judge from that.

My car has been lowered an inch in the fron, and a inch and a half since then.(had to relocate harness.)

my recommendation, or what i wouls do better if i couls re do it:
get 215/40/17 front and 235/40/17 rear
for really nice stretch.
get maybe a 5mm spacer in the rear to push it out as far as possible to match perfect with the pull, and lower about an inch more. that would be the SHIT!!DO IT

So, i just goodled a search for wheel offset pictures, and i came across this site, and i joined these forums just b/c of this topic. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted. You all answered a bunch of my questions, and helped to avoid me making yet another "what offset..." thread. Thanks!!!

How would 17x9 +20 with 215/45-17 up front and 17x10 +30 with 235/40-17 for the rear look?

This would be with rolled fenders (Don't wanna pull if I don't have to so I'm looking at +30 instead of +25 in the rear, unless I can get away with 17x10+25 with no pull) and around -2.5 deg camber all around?

im running 18x10+25 in the rear with 245/35/18, im running just a bit of camber but when i come out of steep entrances they tires rub on the fender lip. but with 17's it might clear.....

I dont have them on the car yet, so i will edit after install pics later, but i will be running these here pretty soon

15X8 +0 PRIME (at least thats what the center caps say... i have no idea what the model is though... but damn do they have sexy lips.)
gonna be running some 215/60/15's on Tien Stech/tokico blue's.

they should clear coils easily
z32 breaks is hard to tell though, when they have tires and are on my car, ill be able to tell better.

at the very least im going to need a roll and probably a mild pull in order to prevent any rubbing at full lock. V where u at? :D

on to the pics:

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a220/dracco77/Wheels_-_1.jpg

the lip needs a little polish, ill keep the centers unpolished for now cause im probably going to end up blacking out the center spokes. and of cource those center caps are going to be put in my shed never to be seen again until i sell the wheels... if i ever do.
