Hey guys, first off its an s13 sr20det my problem is when I'm accelerating i hear a dull tapping type sound which i believe is coming from the Tranny... i know for fact its not lifter tap and i damn well know its not rod knock so don't tell me its that, main, rod, thrust bearings are fresh, lifters are bled. When I rev in neutral i don't hear it at all or say when im at speed limit cruising, for example going 40-45mph and keep rpms at 2k consistently i don't hear anything either, tried other speeds and kept rpms consistent and don't hear anything only when accelerating is when i hear it! All i can think of is its possibly the clutch setup i have... has a nismo flywheel, i think an exedy copper 3 puck sprung clutch, when i did the motor bearings and all the only thing i replaced as far as the clutch stuff goes is the pilot bearing, all other bearings related to the clutch wasn't touched. Not sure what it is! This is my DD for the time being, always had the noise since getting the car, car has been drifted, driven daily, sometimes I push it on the streets, been on the dyno, noise never gets worse sounding or gets louder at all its always the same its always been on the back of my mind really annoying and tired of hearing it :( help me out guys

My SOHC coupe does something like this too, I've had it since 2001 with the same transmission and engine, it doesn't seem do be that serious cause I've been driving for 11 years now..it does bother me though I wonder if it's the same noise you're talking about cause from what you've explained, it sounds like the same thing
