Ok well i have a s14sr and the bottom got messed up during assembly the block was already bored and i have brand new cp pistons and stuff for it. My question is can i use a s13sr bottom and put my s14sr head on it without any problems?

Thats what ive heard. Is there any way to do it and keep the VTC?

As far as I know, no there isn't. Although I think adding oil feed/pressure to that particular oil passage externally would be a viable option. Dave Coleman was trying to sort this out on motoiq and I don't believe it ever came about. Then again I haven't checked that particular thread in sometime.

A buddy of mine was telling me that the VTC stoppes working after 9psi anyway. If i use a s13 block eill i have to change anything? and can i use everything off the bottom end of the s14?

Your "buddy" doesn't know a damn thing.

VTC is activated by a solenoid, that allows oil through a passage into the VTC cam gear. It is a simple on/off switch but allows +/- 20 degrees of timing on the intake cam only. It is active from idle to 5200ish rpms, boost has nothing to do with it. This gives the S14/15 motor a significant amount of low-end/midrange power over the S13 engines. It also aids in spool. If you're doing a mild build, I'd keep it. My last setup made 315ftlbs of torque on 13psi from a 3071R and held over 300ftlbs until deactivation. Peak power was 360whp.

What the Hell Happened to Project Silvia? > MotoIQ (http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles/id/2031/pageid/3479/what-the-hell-happened-to-project-silvia.aspx)

Is there a thread about it? I don't think I've ever looked around in their forums.

Yes, it's under project silvia...

That would be your best option S14DOOD

I do not, but check the forsale section, there usually is a few being sold. You could also try one of the engine vendors and see if they have any low comp short blocks available...
