Has anyone else purchased an S14 K's spoiler from Silviaparts.com?

I finally got around to trying and mounting mine, but turns out the holes are a bit off, the screws are the wrong size, and of course...painting is $$$ when you have Aspen White.

I'm debating whether to sell it and get an authentic JDM one, or dropping it off at a shop and having them do the work.

I am trying to do as much as possible...drilling, primering, sanding, to save money rather than paying a shop...but its been a real bitch.

Has anyone else had problems' the their K's wing? Even the two holes which supposed to match up with the stock S14 spoiler holes do not quite match up, I dont' want to have to drill 4 new holes.

I'm pretty sure they paint small stuff only.

Your still going to run into some problems with the authentic one...

I would just have a shop do it, since they will be doing the paint. Talk to them and see if they can cut you a deal....that's how I work it over here.

aw crap, i suspected as much. My friend bought a JDM authentic K's spoiler and his didn't QUITE match up to the stock SE spoiler holes either. Now i'm pissed.

Well, i can still primer it and crap i suppose, but it'll be an arm and a leg to paint it in Aspen White...color of the devil

The JDM K spoiler will only fit over two out of the four holes on your trunk lid. You'll need to drill two new holes or add tons more sticky tape to fully mount it.

I would return the pos FB copy and look for a real one. I bought mine off ebay (took a while to find a good deal) already painted my car's color, aspen white, and in very good condition for nearly half the cost you would pay for a shitty replica.

I've heard of people saying that 2 of the holes match up pretty good. I installed me stock spoiler myself and it was a bitch! Definately needs 2 people. We still didnt install it right. It ended up being like 1 or 2mm away from where it shouldve been.

BTW Is aspen white really that expensive?

Incorrect.
the jdm k's spoiler only comes with 2 bolts which lines up with 2 out of 4 holes that the usdm spoiler uses. so you'll have to FILL the other 2 holes. NOT drilling another 2.

y? who said that? white is probably the cheapest color. aspen white on the other hand, has those pearl flakes or whatever you call them mixed in so it makes it more custom.

Has anyone heard of silviaparts.com engine brace for the SR20DET? If so, have any of you bought it and been satisfied w/ the outcome. The brace is in the new issue of SS in the parts review section.

Aspen white's full name is Aspen White Super Metallic Pearl Glo (somethin like that). it's a triple stage pearl which requires skill and time to match perfectly to the rest of the car. In fact, even the stock paint job may not match up perfectly. For Aspen white owners, look at the rear bumper, which is a separate piece. Because it is painted off the car, it may not have the same shade as the rest of the car.

The rear two screws of the K's spoiler (both real and fake) use the forward most stock spoiler holes. The rearward two spoiler holes need to be fillled. You will also need to drill two new holes and add tape to fit the new spoiler. Why Nissan never offered the JDM K's spoiler here is beyond me, the Type R and previous gen 2.5RS came with spoilers that rose off the roof in similar fashion.

Oh yeah, problem solved on my end. I went to a shop owned by a friend and his quote was $400 to paint trunk and spoiler and mount, so i'll let the professionals handle it from here on out. He also said my hole-filling and primering sucked =), maybe he felt sorry for me, hahah

yeah the aspen white is a bitch to work with. I had a minor accident in my S14 and the dodgy workshop have done really bad repairs and a terrible job of matching the paint and there's heaps of overspray all over the area and generally badly applied paint. Wont go any further but the work is worse than that sounds. I've got to drop it off to them and get them to try again but they aren't too interested in matching the paint, they just want to blend it some more.

I bought the K's spoiler from them as well back in July. Same issue as you, holes didn't line up. But it's 3rd of the cost as the "jdm hot shit". 600$+ for any spoiler is ridiculous.

Actually on ebay you can get authentic but used JDM k's spoilers painted in factory colors for arou nd $200 (or less if your are patience and watchful). Your trunk would still need new holes.

Not only that, but the screws they sent me were not the right size, they were far too small. Screws are only 5cents at a hardware store, but its annoying they can't even that that much right.

I'm no longer shopping a silviaparts.com unless they have real shit (which they occasionally do) from Japan and not taiwan.

You'd still need holes drilled and holes filled.
