So i guess this is a project
More than a build.

it started off as a chuki..

then i got side skirts and got rid of those wheels.

then I decided that I really wanted a silvia front end.. so i searched and searched and came across a front bumper for super cheap..

but the prev owner cut out a whole chunk of it on the bottom i guess for whatever set up he had -_-.

after the bumper.. i found someone selling fenders, hood, and corner lights, buttt.. they were pretty messed up. driver side fender was ruined and the hood was bent.. so he gave it for a very good price :).
my dad fixed it and voila it was do able

then I found a good deal on triple projectors and hopped on it.

lol putting together the silvia front was like a scavenger hunt, specially when ballin on a budget.

my dad, my personal mechanic :), tried covering up the hole on the bumper by putting a plastic piece over it and later on will be covered with a pig lip.. so i seached for one.

I was desperate for a pig lip and for some reason no one was selling it at the time and one of the few ones being sold in my area was for $90.. so i said eff it and bought that shit -_-, it cost more than the bumper lol.

then I needed wheels. I already had a pair of xxr's from a long time ago when i got my first 240.. so i figured ill just save money and buy another pair for now..

then my bf :kiss: got me coilovers :), which rides super nice btw

and also, it had stock ka but the motor was pretty bad already and wouldnt pass smog...

but i'm with everyone, its senseless to do all this. drive by wire is not a plus, i prefer cable throttle body. with that said, why not go with a stand alone ecu as opposed to a twin ecu setup? if you go so far as to install that motor, ditch the cruise control and/or traction control, thats all a waste of time anyway.

Lol it's cool let him get mad. I posted this for people who know how to appreciate even little things. I didn't say it was the best car ever and it's soo unique.. I just wanted to share what I had accomplished so far. And I did actually help out with this "build" believe it or not.. My hands were not "grease free" lol.. And yea I'm blessed to have my dad who helped me do everything so i didn't spend on labor lol, oh and yes my bf got me coils and kouki tails Cus he loves me duhh, but I paid for everything else. Going back to the "build" subject.. Build by definition is putting parts and materials together over a period of time.. Which is what we did right? And sorry that I didn't buy all my parts brand new and instead got used ones and fixed them. This project was supposed to be a fun experience.. Taking things that looked like shit and restoring.. And it was fun seeing the end results.. If I didn't wanna go through the experience of putting shit together.. Don't u think I would've just bought one? Specially because I'm a "girl".. . So this was all for experience Kay? I'm happy with how it turned out and we all worked hard in putting the car together, it took time patience and money! Lol so just please don't shit on my thread.. Fo realsif u hate it so much just don't click. If u see me around.. Don't look at me or my car thankss. if you are age 16-25, then your mistake is understandable.... you probably opened up last months S-CHASSIS edition of sport compact tuner, saw that Hondas were old and NISSANs are in. Actually, im not kidding.. I cant remember what magazine I skimmed through the other day but it was ALL filled with 240 crap. Im still shocked how over-hyped our shitty old cars have gotten.

Also for the record, I have more respect if you bought used parts that are high quality as opposed to cheap shit. Personally, I dont even see a problem with the parts on your car.. they're not great, theyre not bad... they're OK. My point?

i like seeing this kind of stuff and who says down the road she wont start uprgrading, if i could i would have saved up and bought the best stuff first off, but i didnt, i worked my way through the ranks and now ive been dealing with some pretty legitimate parts lately and im glad...right now yes this car does fit in with every other "hey i built a 240" but lets say she continues and down the road strives for more legitimate parts....isnt that a build. no?

but i completly understand the thread is lacking of the build at current time, add another year of substance and you'll be good to go, thumbs up and gl with your build (i love sil80's) :)

Thanks for the honesty but being nice about it. Lol I've noticed a lot of people hate sil80's but idk I just like them. Color turned out lighter than I expected but I'm satisfied lol. I like what you did to your car! I'm currently trying to put a shell back together myself and this will serve as one of the many cars that's inspired me haha Man finding parts is hard that one dude hating on you so much is being silly. The way I see it is he wants to put brand new parts into his car which can be found and purchased through AEM companies easily. While on the other hand you took the time to hunt down parts that where floating around all over the place and pretty much made them look new again. I mean if money and price were out of the question I find myself respecting what you did more than the simply finding a company and putting ones back account under the hood. I like your car and I'm hoping to see you do mods to it soon. Seeing this makes me wanna get my coupe running!!! Originally I bought my shell to build into a track car. But seeing all these nice restorations make me want to just baby it and for that I hate you lol

i like how I, mister shit talker, just picked up a set of used R33 GTR wheels to refinish and restore. thats $5k for ya. i think there are plenty of people on this forum that know the difference between a good product, a hype product, and a low-priced piece of shit. the problem is, there are too many people that dont know shit from shine-ola... end up buying cheap knockoff wheels. i too had knock off wheels.............. when i was 18. by 20-21 i had used FD wheels.

I won't get into if it's a build or not, but I think the car looks pretty nice now. A lot better than say, 75% of the cars on here. "Impact Blue" comes to mind lol. Get some gold meshies, change your name to Mako Sato and start drifting on Mt. Usui =) Good job, though, for being on a limited budget!

some people like 240s for what they are, great daily drivers. The O.P.'s car is an example of this.

some people like to turn them into sunday afternoon drivers.

some people want to turn them into pristine examples (that crazy black NJ resto on another forum)

drift cars, race cars, parts cars, winter beaters, drift missiles, etc.

each has a purpose, thousands of dollars of premium parts don't belong on a young kid's daily driver, especially with how theft-prone 240s have become.
