What are those lovely solenoids mounted next to my ignitor chip? I'm going to go out on a limb and say vaccum control solenoids for emissions/cruise control.

Anywho know for sure?

Looks like I got an automatic ECU.. :ghey: I'm told it works just fine with a 5 speed...can anyone confirm?

That is trans fluid in that pan...pretty gross looking eh? :) I'm going to be filling it up with Redline MT-90.

No cruise on SRs from the factory. Those are boost cut solenoid parts. They limit boost to ~10psi (if it spikes or if you use a boost controller). You don't need them.

I had a strange feeling it was a boost cut solenoid... :mepoke: I guess now I know. Time to yank them off and toss them in the trash! :naughtyd:

I know this thread has been dead for a while but I found it while searching. i have the same assembly with my ignitor chip, but mine is already wired / plugged up to the harness (with connectors of course). should I just unplug those and take those off that whole bracket?

Yeah, I just took all that crap off and left the plugs hanging. You don't need to worry about that stuff.

was that an automatic ECU? did it work with the 5 spd? that oil looks just like what poured out of my ka24, the engine was coated in mud and slime, so i'm guessing it was in a flood or something of that sort

The auto ECU WILL WORK WITH 5 SPEED! I'm running it right now. Starting is a little rough but its fine other then that.

I've been running for about two weeks now and haven't had any problems with this ECU.

wait, the auto ecu might be causing my hard start... wtf.... i never thought to check that. can anyone confirm that an auto ecu will make starting odd? as in takes a few turns to fire?
