Hey guys I going to say this now I am a little lazy hoping you guys will not hate me.

This my first rwd drive car and first nissan I have had mostly honda and made 450+ on a eagle rod and cp piston set ups I am just seeing what I can do with this motor but still keep it low I noticed these rods are beefy as hell and red the pistons are a little week

First off I am working with a sr20det red top 750cc injectors s15 t28 full three inch exhaust head studs was tuned with NIStune at 312

Well motor blue the ring lands out I think due to the ritch tune I took the motor apart number one. Pistons ringlands fell apart in my hand :s.

I wanna rebuild this motor. I have red alot of thred going to admit I suck at the search always have but I have red these 54c pistons are stronger than the stock red top ones can I do a direct swap over to the 54c pistons.

I have a few questions I never got a real answer front searching

How much stronger is the 54c piston over the stock red top? Is it worth it
and stock red top rods what kinda power people making with stock rods I wanna mamake 400ish give or take

Please help the noob

Do you speak it!?

I think you need a little more time READING, then maybe you would understand running RICH probably didn't cause the ringlands to BLOW.

if you have the motor apart and dont want it to blow up again...upgrade to forged internals and get a better tune!

also i dont see the need for 750's with an s15 t28

Yeah sorry guys. I am on the cell phone and I thought ritch tune will wash the rings and ringlands out. But it don't really mater I will be def getting a better tune I got the car as it was already built. I just wondering about the stock rods and what power people are making on stock rods

At 300+ horsepower the S15 turbocharger is at it's maximum, beyond a safe limit. The engine probably blew due to a combination of too much ignition timing and too high combustion temperatures, since the turbo was running to it's bleeding edge.

For 300-400 horsepower, you should upgrade to a GT2871r Series turbocharger. It is a cookie cutter swap, meaning all of the details have been gone over thoroughly and documented to make it very easy for any random individual to assemble.

The S15 turbo will not last when set to boost pressures more than about 12psi. They are known to be fragile beyond that setting.

54C pistons are just cast aluminum pistons- forget about which are stronger or better. They will handle about 300 horsepower in a daily driver, reliable vehicle, that is what Nissan uses in their 300~ horsepower S15 engines, cast aluminum pistons.

If you desire more than 300 horsepower you must upgrade to forged aluminum pistons to keep the safe reliable aspect of that engine. The OEM rods will be ok around 400 horsepower but you may also wish to upgrade those while you are in there, it will not cost that much additional to do so.

hey thanks alot kingtalon and i have not actually even cross refrenced the turbo to the numbers but it does not even say t28 on it so it might be a differnt turbo. like i said i got it the way it was lol

i may just rebuild with stock e everything get a really good tune on about 300 and sell it might be my plan..

Just forge internal it. The block will last nice and long once you tune it on your choice of stand alones. Its a good investment. You will thank everyone that told ya so. Shop smart n you can have a set of cps n eagle rods for like $750 (even cheaper if you really lurk the forums). Do it right the first time, so you wont scratch your ass n have to do it again. All you would have done was waste more money by cheapin out. Go cheap on your car and it becomes a cheap piece of shit.
