The Clemson University Sports Car Club has announced its autocross schedule for the spring 2004 semester, and anybody in Upstate SC looking for a cheap, low-pressure but competitive autocross is welcome to come out and join in the fun.
The dates are:
January 24
February 7
February 22
March 6
March 20
April 10
April 17
All are Saturdays, except for Feb. 22, which is a Sunday. One of the March/April dates will most likely be used for a car show (location TBA), and one of the Saturdays *might* have to be switched to Sunday because of ROTC activities in our lot.
CSCC events are best described as cheap, informal, and fun. Club membership is open to anybody, not just Clemson students. Dues are $15, members pay $10 to race, non-members pay $20. So, if you think you might race twice in a semester, it's worth it to become a member. Typical race attendance is about 50 drivers, so there really isn't call for numerous classes like SCCA events. There are two classes, street tire and race tire. Aside from that, it's strictly run what ya brung.
Races are run in the parking lot at the west end of the football stadium. PM me if you want directions.
