i have an uncracked dash and want to keep it that way, i think dashmats look kinda gross. Whats the best way to protect my dash? are there better looking mats?

what i do from preventing my dash to crack, I usually wipe it down atleast once a week with water and a microfiber. also use a sunshade when direct sun is hitting my car. :) never had an issue.

I use Meguiars natural shine protectant. Whatever you do DONT use ARMOR ALL products. I had a perfect dash, went to use armor all and cracks started to form. Switched to Meguiars and haven't had any issues since.

^I've heard awesome stuff about Meguiars. I also use a sunshade every time I park, and I'll soon have my windows tinted, and I may go as far to do a light UV protectant on the windsheild lol

Mine has the smallest crack but not from the sun, like something hitting it. Itll get worse with aromor all forsure. So for now i just wipe it down with water

It isn't just Armor All products that will dry out your and crack your dash, it's anything with silicone in it. Honestly your best bet is to just wipe it down with water, or something without silicone.
As far as protecting it goes, just use a sun shade every time you park in the sun.

I think I would rather buy a new dash than glue something to my old one. But that's just me.

If by new you mean used, old, and just as prone to cracking, then yeah. Then you can get a cover for it when it cracks in two months.
Sorry, I'm just disillusioned :yum:

I'm sure you can find them cheaper. Check Amazon and stuff. $30 shipped is a good price.

turtle wax interior cleaner or meguairs intrerior cleaner (they both have uv protection) and a windshield shade everytime i park in the summer. 3 dashes so far with no cracks at all.

unless these have been updated, they generally look like shit to someone who is really wanting a perfect dash. The edges of is dont flow in to where the oem one is. Looks like a cheap toupe imo. If you're not too worried about how it looks like you just glued a piece of plastic on, then it should suffice

Two months? What are you doing thats causing a dash to crack so quickly? Use a sun shade, and don't use armorall.
But if you feel like spending $130 + shipping on a dash cover, be my guest.

Mine came cracked when I bought the car. Replaced it with an uncracked and been using meguairs interior wipes. Stay away from amour all like everyone said because of the silicone make it dry up. Also always use sun shades when parked. Doesn't help living in arizona with all the heat
