So before I get a million "search this" posts let me explain that my comp is broken and I'm using my iPhone but the search is tweaking out. I have been trying to do a google search but the usual non relevant pages pop up and i kinda need to get this issue resolved today because my car is undrivable

My issue is that while changing belts yesterday I noticed that the top alternator bolt wasn't stock. Stock one has the ability to apply tension to the belt, essentially it's a bolt going into a bolt so that one positions the alternator and the other tightens it on. Mine however is just a bolt to hold it on, which works fine until it stripped out... So now I'm like fuck it I'm just gonna buy the oem bolts but I can't seem to find the specs, and every auto parts store up here is worthless because not a single person in them has even picked up a wrench or even knows what I'm talking about.

Q: does anyone know the specs to the alternators bracket bolts for the top part of the alternator? Size, length, where the tensioner bolt threads in, what the thread size, etc

Just drill it out, and use a nut and bolt combo.

I'd find one locally from someone with spare parts... I have an extra but I'm assuming you need it now.

Yeah I do kinda need it now unfortunately. As far as other ppl, there are really only 4 ppl in northern Humboldt with s chassis and I doubt they got a spare lol. I was thinkin that a KA bolt set up would work but then I tried finding that and again they need the specs so if I had the specs I could just piece it together from the bolt collection at the local napa or o'reilly. But since you mentioned you got an extra is there anyway you could measure it and get the specs for me?

I can measure it for you, but the thread dia. and pitch will be a tad bit harder. I'll see what I can do.

*Edit* The bolt that slides in the end of the bracket and adjusts the belt tension is an M8x1.25x85mm long bolt. I'm not sure what else you need.

Yeah that's awesome, thankyou very much. I also need the specs of the bolt that it threads into, the one on the bracket

That is a huge nut, with a bolt sticking out of it. The thread pitch is the same as the bolt that threads into it. The bolt projecting out to "lock" the alternator to the bracket is 35-40mm long and can be whatever thread pitch youd like it to be.
