So When I bought my silvia (right hand drive), it was missing all the air conditioning components, except the evaporator.

When I turn the fan on in the car, the heater would never get hot, I ended up looking in the engine bay at the inlet/outlet tubes from the heatercore- and they have a hose that connects one to the other???!!!! I took the hose off and noticed that there is no coolant in there.

Can someone tell me which hoses do I connect to these pipes?

here is a photo of what it looked like:

Looks like they just re-routed the water back to the engine instead of through the heater core. I can give you more information on how to route it when I get home from work once I take a look at my car, my heat works 100%.

yeah I see the re-routing of the water back to the engine.

I already removed the hose from the inlet/outlet ports of the heater core. Can i just take off the re-routed line to the engine and re connect it to the heater core?

My other problem is that the motors that drive the doors in the heater core unit dont work- and everything is connected and no fuses are blown. I have even tried using a spare climate control unit- that didn't work either.

The outlet that is below the intake manifold (SR20) goes to the bottom heater core port and the outlet that is in the back of the engine goes to the top heater core port. Do you have a digital climate control or is it manual?

If you look at that photo, you can see the re routed lines- which are connect by a rubber hose and two clamps. Im guessing that these are the two lines you are referring to? I should be able to just unhook that connector hose that someone put on there and then connect them to the heater core. They both are lind of below the intake manifold and in the back of the engine. My car is a ca18det model, with the analog climate control, but not with the cables in the back of it- all electric.

The fan works, and the intake door motor works, but the other two motors dont turn on.

Sounds like you need to replace your air mix motor, it could have gone bad.

I have tried spare motors, from a 180sx- and they dont work either :(

Might be time to upgrade to a digital control :)

yeah, but I don't think my analog climate control is the cause of the motors not working.

It must be something to do with the wires or something yes?

It can only be the motor itself, the wires, or the control unit. Next step would be to check the wiring, if it all checks out, I'm afraid your control unit has gone bad.

I have two climate control units- one of them being from a 180 that had everything working properly. I tried both, and they gave the same results: only the fan and intake work.

I also have spare motors that open and close the door to the heatercore, and also the motor that opens and closes the doors to the feet and face vents. None of the motors were working.

I am guessing it has to be a wiring problem, but maybe I should just take it to a professional first to check it out.
