You can then show the recording to a cop and he can take it in as evidence and may even be able to get a warrant for there arrest if other people have similar descriptions of the thieves car.

this reminds me of something that happened a few years ago. i had a silvia converted coupe that had a nice alarm on it with a pager. the thing never went off just because. so one night, im sitting in my room and it goes off. i look out my upstairs window, see nothing and reset it. a few minutes later, it does it again. now, im not stupid and this was a cul de sac so i went out there with my remington 870 shotgun, walked to my car and racked the slide. i didnt say anything, i just walked around the cul de sac and went back inside. it never went off again. :)

yo dude we had this same problem with my sisters tacoma. some idiots would drive up at night once every other day or so and stare at the house for light/people and would take off. we parked it in front of the drive way and put jacks on it like if it were messed up. and we put a for sale sign on it for about 3-4 days. then we got a friend who let us park the truck in his garage for about 2 weeks and those idiots never drove by again. makes me think about my s13
