So today we got the KA-T started all because of that damn safc!!! I knew we should have taken it off from the get go!!! Sure enough disconnected the ground and BAM.

Now my question is I know the dizzy is off a little so Ill figure out that one. But its clearly runnung rich, lots of smoke, smells only of gas. 255lph pump, 370cc injectors, Z32 maf.

Is it just a timing issue?

Im not going for anything over 275-300hp @ 5-10psi so Im thinking the stock ecu is ok for now but Im wondering?

Can anyone tell me the timing adjustment (deg per psi)?

All else is good minus an oil leak but not worried.

Any ideas/help? Thank You

i cant see the dizzy making it run that rich. are all of your fuel injectors seals intact?

should be. There all brand new. No problems.

One more thing we put on the CXRacing style intake manifold so all EGR componets were removed. The FPR vacume line is hooked up with the rest of the necessarry vacume lines pre turbo. Is this a problem? Im thinking an adjustable FPR might help.
Im wondering if its not so much running rich as its just the timing is off causing lots of unburnt fuel?

i dont think you can run a z32 maf on just the stock ecu with out a safc or rom tune of some sort? correct me if wrong.

Nope, you cannot. The ecu needs to know about the maf change. I'd still check to make sure the injector seals are intact. If they aren't well lubed upon install, the O-rings can tear and even a slight tear will leak like crazy.

come to think of it, my old ka was doing the same thing right after i swapped out my injectors, didnt put enough lube on one of the o-rings and tore the ring.
my suggestion is get a jwt or enthalpy rom tune or just hook back up the safc, put in the changes for a z32 maf (i believe theres all that info on ka-t.org last i checked), check the o-rings on the injectors to see if their torn or not and make sure you lube them up good and see how she runs :dunno:

Thank you guys!!! Good deal with the MAF I was thinking about switching it back just to get it to idle right. But thanks for the info I sure did not know that one. I will double check the seals on the injectors and switch the maf's out. That should be it.

Any comments on the vacume hook up?
The only things that I have hooked up to vacume are the FPR, Brake Booster, and PCV from a catch can. But it is all hooked up to the same pipe (different fittings) pre turbo.

T04e Turbo came from CXRacing basic kit. Here is my Nico page just so you can see what we have been up to.
