I have got an S14 with an RB25 swap, RB25 trans and Q45 diff and axels. Thought my centerforce clutch was going out so i replaced with a stage 3 6 puck clutch and light weight flywheel, Broke it in for 500 miles and noticed when i got on it tht the car seemed like it wasnt grabbing and going anywhere... I have come to the conclusion tht if i mash on it real hard tht it is some wht slipping and making a very high pitch wining noise from under the dash close to the firewall. When i hit second really hard the car goes no where and revs really high and the high pitch whining noise once again returns... Any ideas would be super helpful! Thnx. Feel free to ask questions and poke around some and i will answer to the best of my knowledge.

Well it would help if you said what kind of clutch you used.

Not sure what help you're looking for. The clutch is bad and needs to be replaced. Time to break out the wrenches and get under the car...

Xtd clutch and flywheel. Same stuff my friend has in his rb25 kouki and it grabs awesome. He had used them on several of his RB swapped cara and I literally just replaced the clutch... Barely past the break in point so I don't c how it is bad... It will grab sometimes and then other it will do as I stated above.

Did you adjust the clutch pedal? Maybe the engagement point is so high that its preloading the clutch slightly.

did you bleed the system after you changed it?

did you change the Throw-out bearing?...Pressure Plate?

that whining noise sounds like a throw out bearing, but i dont think that would cause it to slip

Another HHHUUUUGGGEEEE thing....this happened to me in my S13....almost bought a new clutch until my step dad looked me in the eyes after he drove it and told me "hey dumbass........your clutch is fine...." lol Have you bypassed the clutch damper??? That was my problem it had air in the lines from it and was causing the clutch to not FULLY release or engage it was kind of just riding there lol I was on the highway and took off from a light and was in 5th gear at 4500 rpms going 30mph lol my buddy had to push me home.. :/

Also...THIS^^^ if it wines when you are in neutral and kind of (like a siren) dies down when you press in your clutch pedal it's your TOB. like $25 for that, and the damper bypass is FREE :D

I did not bleed the system after the most recent adjustment and my car is low so i havent really been able to look around for the dampening box but i did feel around for it the other day before i bled it and i didnt feel it on the inside frame rail. I will take a better look later today though. I did not replace the TOB when i did the clutch cause i heard the one tht came with my clutch wasnt the best quality and OEM was probably better. Mine wasnt making any noise or anything though and no noise at red lights. No noise when driving either unless i just absolutely smash on it and let it hit full boost and power...

A old oem TO bearing is not better then a cheap one. I have a xtd bearing, works good. Might not last as long as a new oem but will out last used oem.

Yea tht makes sense. When we were changing my clutch my friend suggested i leave the old one in because he put an XTD one in his and he said it makes noise now so he didnt suggest them. Mine wasnt giving me any problems so i went with wht he said lol

So you didnt use the TOB that came with the kit...did you atleast check and made sure the TOB that came with the kit is the same thickness as the one you have now? If the TOB thats in the car is thicker than the one for the centerforce clutch, it might be pushing against the transmission cover and preloading the clutch.

Crawl under the car, peep thru the fork hole and see if the carrier got some play on it. If its not moving at all, then your setup is too tall for the clutch.
