8 months later and my Sr swap is almost done. The shop I took it to is all but incompetent, but they have been throwing in free parts too keep me happy/quiet. All that is left for me to do is the exhaust. I already have a high-flow cold air intake, a large FMIC, and a high-pressure fuel pump, to handel a little extra boost, but I still have the stock exhaust on it right now. They have offered to custom make a 3" mandrel bent exhaust for me for about $425. That price includes a complete 3" exhaust from the down pipe back (down pipe is already 3"), with high flow cat, and high flow muffler. Before I say yes to them, I wanted to get some opinions. Is that a good enough price to go with a Custom exhaust over a name brand exhaust?

I'd say custom over name brand any day, but that's just me.

So is $425 for a full 3" exhaust, High-Flow Cat, and Muffler a good deal for a custom setup?

i guess so, but then again this shop seems pretty sketchy...its taken them 8 months to get your swap almost done! It took me like a week and half...shiza.....i dunno it sounds like an alright deal, but not to sure about the shop

I am not too conserned about it being a sketchy shop at this point. I am pretty confident that they can do the exhaust without messing it up, I was just mainly asking about the price.
The shop so far has given me a $500 discount on the FMIC setup, a free 3" intake setup (best they sell) and a free bbk 255lph fuel pump so the way I figure it, they can take as long as they want as long as my car works when it is finally done.

What kind of muffler are they going to put on it and what shop is it at in Colorado?

From what they told me I pretty much have my pick of what muffler (as long as it is one they carry). I think they are just doing their best to keep me from complaining and/or taking them to court so they are more willing to work with me now. I will probably go with something quiet. The shop is Phat n Low in Greeley.

I have Apexi N1 on my Eclipse and that is what I am going to put on my 240. I recommend that you look at prices for different exhausts. If you can get a catback from a company that has specialy made it for your car to get the highest horsepower then I say go for it. I am on my 3rd catback set up because I didn't like my custom exhaust, but it's up to you. You should come to out meet on the 7th.

I will try to get out there for the Meet on the 7th, but I still need to pass emissions so I can get plates, and that is probably going to be a little bit tricky. I will probably wait until my car has plates before I do the exhaust, but I just wanted to get opinions.
I want to clear one last thing up, because I am not sure if we are all on the same page. A cat-back exhaust is exactly that, correct? It is from the Cat to the tip, and does not include a High-Flow Cat. Then you have to get a high-flow cat ($100+) and the pipe that goes from the down pipe to the cat, correct? They shop my car is at is quoting me Down Pipe back, including the Cat, Muffler, and Tip (if i want a tip) for $425 which is about the price of most name brand cat-back systems I have seen.
Is my information correct?

You're more than welcome to come even if your car isn't ready. I'm not sure if mine will be.
You're right and that's not a bad price for all that, but I have seen high-flow cats for as cheap as $25, so be careful.

I might have to try out the Dyno with my s10 Zr2 if my 240 isnt done by then. It should be interesting to see if my 4.3L v6 makes more power than my Turbo charged 2.0L.
The cats they sell there are all about $150 (give or take $50) so either they are marking them up like crazy, or they are decent cats (probably a little bit of both).

That would be funny, but I wouldn't worry about it because I'm sure your 240 weighs less. Hope to see you there.

Actually my truck should have more torque, but the sr20 in my 240 should make about 20 more HP on stock boost, and it weighs 1500 lbs less. I think Hybrids can even out accelerate my truck.
