Buying A Used Exhaust??

I was just wondering if it is a bad idea to buy a used exhaust. we are trying to be economical on this swap and i know where i a 5zigen rocket catback is for a great price, i was just wondering if there were any downfalls to buying a used one? i know it will be all scratched and blah blah blah but im not that compulsive so they wont bother me...

Well if you look at it, and you see any like dark black spots on it, that means the exhaust is leaking.

Also if somone beat the shit out of it right away, it could have a lil bit worse sound then if they broke it in right and the exahust built up is equaly displaced to give it a nicer sound, but thats not really a big deal

I agree w/ Zemus, check it out first in person.... but its always a gamble.

I got lucky w/ my 5zigen fireball -- paid $80 shipped because the previous owner said he got an SR and picked up the turbo version. It was very dented and definitely abused but for $80, I could see past the scratches and minor dents. I'm quite happy with it and have had no problems with it, especially because I bought it sight unseen.

I suggest to ask for a lot of questions, like asking for a full description and pictures. If you found it for sale here, I hope it helps you I did buy mine from another Zilvia member on here.

I dunno, I bought an exhaust for an S13, which the seller confirmed several times, and it got here and I had to take it to a muffler shop to put on a lift (don't have my own) and it was there we discovered that it didn't fit at all, and they had to cut and bend it to fit...
I emailed the guy afterward and he said "oh its for an s14, sorry must have been a typo."

so I guess you could say I've had a bad experience...

i bought a used 3 inch apex N1 fir 230.00 shipped off of ebay and when it got here it was practiclly brand new, i guess i got lucky or whatever but there were good pictures of it posted so, i guess what i am saying is just checked it out as best you can but i would defintly purchase it used again. it saves a lot of money. :blah:
