Why don't companies making coil overs these days, put the rear dampening adjustment on the side, toward the bottom of the shock like how Tanabe used to do it? It's so much easier to get to, then having to adjust from in the car. Unless of course, your interior is stripped, then it wouldn't matter. I'm thinking they put it on top, because it will last longer, since it won't be exposed to the elements. What do you guys think?

I have an S13, all you have to do is pop off the oem carpet cover pieces. Much less of a PITA than jacking up the car/removing wheel.

How about you run an extension so you have it over the cover. Just think outside the box. You can always make any kind of extension for anything to run it remotely.
I mean, you could go to a bike shop and buy yourself a bicycle cable, wrap it around the knob and run it to the front of the cabinet of car and as you pull it rotates it, as you push the other way, it rotates the other way. You could attach a motor and wire it to a cell phone and turn the knob from your home. Put a parakeet on the knob and train it to turn the knob to different types of tones of whistles.
My point it, I'll take the inside knob any day and make it work.

I know that there are work arounds. For my stance coils, you can get the cables you are talking about. But, I think I'll gt myself a couple of parakeets instead.

With my Tanabes, all you had to do was stick your hand behind the wheels to adjust dampening.

Not coil overs, but for what its worth Kyb Agx shocks have the knobs for the rear shocks outside/under the car like you are talking about.

Because the shocks are independently height adjustable and they can rotate in the mount, so the knob would rotate too.

Folding the seat and popping off the rear cover isnt that hard anyway.

it also is dependent on wether its in inverted shock or not.

That's right!!! I completely forgot about AGX's, and I had a set myself.

Why would the shocks rotate? You are turning the knob from left to right, right to left. Not clockwise/counter-clockwise.

Folding the seat and popping off the rear cover isnt that hard anyway.

I have no problems doing that. With my Stance coils, you have to put these little wheels on the adjusters. They are rough around the edges, so it helps you turn the knob itself. Now, the adjustment knob is already wedged under my interior panel. So, it's pretty much impossible for me to get the wheel, on top of the adjustment screw. What I've been doing, is using needle nose pliers, to turn the adjustment screw. That isn't fun.

it also is dependent on wether its in inverted shock or not.

I don't quite understand, could you explain?

Nothing happens when you turn the knob, only the occasional rainbow and flying unicorn popping out of your upper mount, lol jp.
