i just got a speeding ticket.. this morning on the way to work.... sucks~!!!! i was late for work.. going i don't know... hmm.. about between 80~ to 100.... but there wasn't a lot of cars.. cause i alwasy go against the traffic.. and i have never saw cop on that freeway.... well saw once , only once... tho.. and i guess today was my lucky day.....
he wrote me down as 95... i don't remember how fast i was going... but i'm thinking about going to court and fight.... maybe he might not show up~ :D
oh i have a 5" exhaust (apexi dunk) and CF hood... and i think that's y he wanted me to open the hood.. and ofcouse he didn't find anything.... special around my KA motor...
watch out socal.. people.....:coolugh: i never had a cop asking me to open my hood... before.. my first time.. i guess cops are getting a bit of bitch about imports.... now.....
i gotta rethink about getting that SR.. (like im gonna get it tomorrow or somethin.. )

what freeway was it?

yeah what freeway man?
when he asked you to pop your hood, you should have told him No.
thx247

telling him no would not have gotten him anywhere in this case. The cop has (unfortunately) every right to ask to open the hood once he saw the exhaust or hood. Since the cop didnt write you up for 100, you should get off with a 1point and a big ticket. No big deal. If it was a 100mph ticket, it would be 2pts and atleast 400 dollars

eek.... $400..... i should go to court... almost more than half of the times cops don't show up right???
and the freeway.. it was on 60east before 605.... in the morning.... around 9...
yeah i know they have all the rights to ask me to do anything but i'm just saying that i got pulled over before and no cop ever asked me to open the hood....

i got a speeding ticket
200some dollar fine (bail)
traffic school for 35 bucks
and no points, no insurance markup
but im 24 and its my first ticket in 7 years (all my driving expirience)
its not bad
oh and the cops dont show up
that's not true
they schedule them off all day to go to court and the cop will dela with ALL his tickets that. before it was one at a time and chances were likely to get dropped but now they got it planned
usuauly you go to court clerk set up a date for a hearing (the date will be the day the cop is coming in for other cases) and you'll come back
go traffic school!

I was in court fighting a ticket I got a while ago and plenty of people got off because the cop didn't show up. A little advice, don't EVER EVER EVER go over 100mph. EVER!!!!

Yeah the ticket will definetly be close to $370, which was what I paid recently in the San Fernando Valley. I would have asked togo to traffic school but it was my 2nd ticket within the 18 month period so I was screwed.
EDIT!: By the way, I was ticketed for 95 also.

what was the speed on your ticket dousan??

Damn you people! Here in AL it only takes 12 points to be suspended (happened to me). But, we get 2 points for anything normal, and we only have to go over 85 and we get 5 points!! :bash: At least we don't have emmissions testing.

Isn't it like 3 points to get suspended here in Cali?

I was on the 5 south going to SD at 4AM with only one other car with me. The cop got me at 102 mph near saltcreek and left it at that. Didn't even drop it to 99. Getting pulled over for going over 100 is very bad and I will be paying for this for the next 10 more years through my car insurance.
$500 ticket, 2 points with no traffic school, 1 month license suspension, and thousands extra in the car insurance payment for the next 10 more years. Hopefully it'll go down a little in 2 years when I turn 25. Fucking magical age that 25 is. I guess it's when everybody decides to slow their asses down and start being responsible. I fucking hate car insurance companies to no end. I learned my lesson though. Hard fucking lesson. Seriously.

300?? eh.. i got my second speeding ticket in 18 months this last summer.. the first was around $135 and the second around $155... none of them were really extreme.. going 70 in a 55 and going 83 in a 65.. and I'm only 19... so maybe that was the difference?

you california guys are really lucky. here in va tickets are terrible. i got "improper" (doing something the cop didnt like, but no real law against it) and thats 3 points, and $150.
and i just got 85 in a 45, ill get reckless, its 6 points, and possibly 6 months in jail and $2500. you have to get 12 points to lose your licence.
and pretty much no cops here are cool, theyre all out to get imports. some even know people by their cars, know whats done to them, and pull the people over when ever they want, just for tint, or lowering, or exhaust. a friend of mine got pulled over, the cop came up to his window and handed him the ticket, didnt even get out of his car fisrt, he knew who it was and what he could get him for. it retarded.

I got ticketed going 75 in a 40......took the ticket to court and the cop didn't show up. About 75% of the people in the courtroom were dismissed because their cop didn't show up. I would reccomend to fight a ticket always. I have a question though: About two months ago I got antother speeding ticket, the cop asked me if i had been ticketed in the past 6 months, I told him yeah, he gave me a SUMMONS COPY of my ticket (have to go to court)...................so due to the fact that my last ticket was thrown out of court (the one I told the cop I had been written up for) would this change anything (ex: driving classes, etc.)???
