about the silvia conversion for sale on ebay

if the seller is in CA and I'm in CA do I have to pay tax? I looked at them on ebay and none of them say anything about tax. I'm just wondering if they have already payed the taxes when it was imported.

Thanks.

Anytime a sale is performed in a state with sales tax, the tax must be collected. The only time this does not apply is if something is being sold/purchased across state lines. This is the whole reason for the mail order industry...

Eric

BUT...if you pay the seller in cash, and there's no record of the sale, then there's no way for the state to know that they were owed a tax... :o

ok, i guess they just dont' list it.

Lived in OR most of my life....the luxuries of no sales tax. Still not used to the sales tax here, hard to accept it. Still have my OR and WA driver license, but there are holes punched in them :(
