I got this unit with a built s13 blacktop in an s14 and was wondering if there is anyway to run it with a map sensor instead of a maf.
I've read that the z32 maf maxes out right around 500hp and that's where I'm looking to be at. Not really comfortable with being right at the limit of a major sensor

No...completely different. Cant force an L-jetro to use a MAP. But Z32 should be good to 600hp. If not, you got other options out there. Mustang Cobra MAF is one of the other MAFs that I remember folks using. Another trick is running the MAF on the hot side.

Ray, I'm curious about this.........not because it will ever apply to me, but just wondering how/why this trick works.

I guess I didn't even think about a blow-thru setup. I've heard of dsm guys doing it but never really looked into it. Anymore info on this, wouldn't the maf go out of range quicker?

No clue to be honest with you...but I've seen this shit first hand on RB25s. Stock RB25 maf is weak sauce compared to Z32s and will max out less than 400hp, and madee the car run like shit. Moved it to the hot side and magically works.

I think I'm going to try out the blow through setup. I'll have to cut up this pretty IC piping to get it to work. The iacv feed and bov are almost right before the TB right now dammit

Might be that the hot and cold air produce different readings..........
That being said, does switching from the cold to hot side require a retune? If so, then that would be interesting!

From what I've been reading, a lot of people that switch to blow through see higher voltages from the maf, so I would retune.
I've also seen a lot about the z32 mafs leaking in blow through setups, so I may go with a lightning maf and just weld the flange for the sensor on my IC piping.
