May I ask how you rebuilt yours? Mine is blown and research shows that you can't rebuild dual bb turbos.

Wen you rebuild a ball bearing trbo, they make it into a journal bearing I'm pretty sure.

this you cant rebuild a BB turbo garret does not even sell BB rebuild kits the only way to do it is by converting it in to a jornal bearing

lol man you sound like you dont know what you are talking about

most of the members here know that bb turbo are almost not rebuildable and no kits are being sold. if it is why would you think most of the people here with bb sell them so cheap when they are pretty much used up.

do you have the receipt you can provide and show what kind of work they had done with it?

My friend had it rebuilt. if the barrings go, u have to have them replaced with the non bb. He didnt have those replaced. He hadthe blades and shaft replaced. Its a simple fix. I even brought it down to a guy in southern ri that is a turbo specialist and the first thing he said was.... This rebuilt? He said it was in very good condition. He told me that I could get about 6 for it. Im asking 5obo just cuz I need it gone yesturday

Again what you just said doesn't provide any information about it being dual ball bearing at all.

I'm telling you right now you CAN'T rebuild a dual ball bearing turbo. there not rebuildable unless you replace the internals with journal.

You need to post what turbo this is and manufacturer and serial number. You at least owe people some relevant information or this needs to be closed.

This is what I've heard. Thing is, they are VERY anal about selling these cartridges that you either have to send the turbo back or you need to provide serial numbers and everything before they sell you one. Mine is so worn out and I bought mine used that I can't give it to them. Not to mention I don't want any downtime on my car. Not to mention the cartridge for a 2860rs is like $800.

There's a program that allows you to send in your chra as a core and they sell you a new chra for $400. But no, ball bearing turbos CANNOT be rebuilt. Once the chra is taken apart, the balls in the bearing fall out which makes the bearing no longer usable. Like stated before, if it was rebuilt it's most likely a journal turbo now.
