i bought a single cam motor and when i took the oil pan off, i found a lot of plastic chunks. it was said that the guy drove the motor before it was taken out, and it sat for a while before it was pulled a week or so ago. thats when i bought it. any ideas?

Yeah i got the same reply on a 240 group on Facebook. Is that a bitch to replace? Should i buy anothet motor or fix it?

Yup, it just bought a shell and the chain guide was all tore up. If you need any parts I still have a lot of extra stuff from a single cam. Let me know what you need. If you pay shipping, they're yours for free.

idk man, we didnt even put it in, my friend was like just return the motor and they left, so i didnt put it in the bay and start it up. im having a friend coming in a few weeks to fix the chain guide and clean out the motor. had a lot of sludge

This happened to me. Oil pressure light turns off & on.
I removed oil filter and found chunks of plastic in it.
I don't know why, it only has 297K miles!, lol
Oh well, time for a tear down.
Anyone else do this, what type of damage should I expect (N/A KA24DE)?

Added wear and tear on the chain since its grinding metal to metal...
