Yuck. Not a fan of anything on that car. Headlights are tooooo shiny for me and the wheels are too big and gaudy. Might look better outside and not all greased up for the carpet race.

Well it's good to know that the overall opinions on this forum are not worhty of being referred to as a "collective" mind so to speak.

About the car, I like the headlights as well, that's it...

I noticed that too when I saw the pics posted from TAS04. First time Ive seen those on the car. Besides the demo and the blue zenki awhile back. I thought they wouldnt be good b/c the beam pattern or something? Cant remember the exact details but they look sweet.

I wonder why companys havent come out with clear lights for the 240. Maybe they'll start when they release the altezzas for them.

dousan meant Diamond Head...here's the link. (http://home.att.ne.jp/green/staff2/itiosi/index.html) (Thanks for that link, Dousan_PG) I tried emailing them but they never responded and I now they read my message cause I got a "read receipt". I guess they can't read english or maybe they just don't wanna do business w/ us whiny Americans :wtc: I'm still waiting to see if Wayne can get them for me :(

how does it work? is it just a piece of clear plastic and you need to take apart your original headlights and glue the new one on?

doesn't seem to be that hard for companies to make, it's just a bitch to install...

Yea beam pattern is def a prob...projectors are a must. Plus will make it look much better like the attached pic only clear.

there was a long ass thread about this during summer irc. Someone started a group buy i dunno how that turned out.

but anyway, the concern is that these glass headlight covers don't have any beam patterns at all and are very dangerous to drive in for a varity of reasons.

They look nice on a show car, but our own lighting specialist mike (clearcorners) woudn't recommend driving them on the street.

it was KeinSM that started the group buy, but he ripped everything off....so beware!!!

it would make sense that those headlights covers might not be safe because it doesnt have beam reflector patterns, but thats all we know.....no one knows for sure if the actua light output meets safety regulation standards in Japan or if it performs the same....

i'd still be willing to test these out though :)

The group buy someone started on 240sxforums, I think failed...people thought it was a scam or something b/c the guy didnt respond to much.

Those headlights and corners are fucking hideous.

I wouldn't say they are hideous. I would much rather have them over my yellow ones.

Japan laws are much more lax when compared to US laws as to what is legal for street use AND sale. I saw those lights at TAS a few days ago, they are not glass they are plastic. They lenses, so you need to remove your original lenses and add those on. The headlight will have no lighting pattern, but they will look nice to some people.

Personally, I think adding DOT-projectors behind the OEM lens is the way to go. If your lamps are yellow, polish them. If you are seriously looking for change, get the German headlamps -- even better.

TAS was a blast, I'll be sure to post pics soon!

And where exactly can we get these... infamous Euro-spec headlights? I've looked everywhere and I've had no luck.

like 800.00 US for them even w/ the group buy?? thats steep.

how about dual projectors behind the clear plastic lens for a sick lighting setup? then LED blinkers in the corners. and angel eyes. and a blacked out housing. yeah, that should do it

I translated the diamond star page using alta vista babel fish and this is what it says:

"As for this commodity part for competition
Being to be, in the public road you do not use
So"

whatever that means...

aka off road use only

your are correct 100%
you know theres a good reason those cant be DOT approved, CAUSE no beam pattern. i understand they look nice but why would you sacrifice viewing distance for looks? even if you put hid kit on with them you will blind everyone on the road. :wtf:

That's what projectors are for...
