That was a plastic wheel. not ceramic. also, ceramic style bearings and ceramic compressors are two different things.

Oops! That turbo no good. Lol. Oil is needed for a reason. Hell no I would not trust those oil less crap. My :2c:

So these are just water cooled? I like the idea of no pesky oil seals. Have they done road testing for a period of time? I'm interested to see how this would stand up to daily driven heating and cooling.

They use a special lubricant before the turbo is assembled which is supposed to last for a pre determined amount of time.. Jtran studios in Texas have used one on a mid mount turbo setup for a VQ motor!

Ls1 tech and the DSM forums have been slowly having builds using these. Can we get a Zilvia build with one thats all I'm saying.

you dont need oil. these aren't a new design. its proven technology
