Hey guys,
Im in Lawton, work at Fort Sill. Originally from South Florida. My friend, and long time drifter convinced me to get into the sport; so I decided to get my first 240, an '89 coupe shell. Here's how the build is going so far.
This is what she looked like when we first got her home. The guy that sold it to me said the engine spun but didn't start. He said it was probably the timing. Well, it wasn't.

We decided to try and figure out what was going on. After a bit of trouble shooting, we figured out that the head gasket was blown. There was foam oil and coolant in the head and also found out that piston 3 had a big enough crack in it to drop a quarter through the cylinder, also the combustion chamber had a giant hole next to the spark plug hole. So we pulled it out, took it all apart and salvaged and cleaned all the re-useable parts. Also got rid of all the extra crap, good thing OK doesn't have inspections.

Went out and found a new engine in better condition. Cleaned it up, got all new gaskets, new chain tensioner kit, and now the head is in a machine shop getting tanked and possibly re-surfaced. When that gets back we'll assemble all working parts and get this puppy fired up and running.

Also decided to strip the valve cover and paint it a nice aged copper color. Also we painted the exhaust manifold and pipe with black high temp paint to give it a cleaner look. Forgot to take pictures though. Trying to get this temporary single cam looking as clean as possible.
In the next two weeks plans(other than get it running well)are to get some coilovers, set of wheels and a welded diff, and taking that hideous body kit off ASAP!! If you know of a local place that does a good job welding, let me know.
Well, thanks for reading! If you're in the area and would like to meet and chill, let me know! We're trying to find some more guys around town.
