Hey guys, ran some brief research on this and not finding anything on this particular question;
I'm going 5 lug w/ z brakes, standard fodder for 240's, planning on z32 N/A hubs and all 4 calipers are z32, the 30mm aluminum variety. woo.
On the article I'm reading, it states that the e-brake differs from 240's to 300zx's.
What do I need to purchase in order to have this done quickly and efficiently? Does the z32 rear hub just bolt on like the ichiba front hubs do? Not sure what all I'll be dealing with here as I have yet to inspect the z32 parts in comparison.
Parts list so far:
Ichiba 5 lug hubs
z32 N/A rear hubs
z32 calipers
(will need conversion lines im assuming)
z32 BMC
5 lug wheels
5 lug rotors
Z32 pads.
Would somebody mind explaining the rear hub situation w/ e-brake, and confirm my list is complete and accurate?
Thanks!

Your parts list is complete, minus ebrake cables. If you have an s13 you will need z32 2+2 cables, and if you have an s14 you will need r33 cables. You'll also need conversion brake lines.
Type into google "the definitive 300zx brake swap" for a complete write up with pictures.

I have a feeling finding a donor 2+2 car will be a beast.
Where can I snag the cables online? Is it much harder than doing normal brake work to swap cables or will I need special tools?

there are a lot of guys on here selling the z32 cables..
I'm also looking for the same parts because I'm in the same situation
I have a s14 so its much harder to find a used r33 cables
if you have a s13, just pick up the z32 or r32 e-brake assembly with anchor bolts and good shoes and a pair of z32 2+2 e-brake cables and you are set. they should bolt right in.

Can I just use Z32 calipers?
Example: Z32 fronts (w/ conversion lines)
Z32 rears.
Can I do this and retain stock e-brake?
Will S14 rotors work or are z32s the only option at this point?
Does Z32 hubs vs. S14 SE hubs vs. Aftermarket 5 lug hubs matter?

If you switch to z32 rear you will not be able to retain the stock e-brake. Two entirely different setups. If you are going z32 rear you will need the z32 rear N/A hubs OR the s14 hubs / aftermarket hubs but will need to add a spacer to mimic the z32 flange shown below.

So to retain my current e-brake, it would be most beneficial to only have Z Brakes up front, and then run N/A, s14, or aftermarket hubs out back with my stock s-chassis calipers and then run S14 SE rotors?

Yes, exactly.

I don't mean to bump an old thread but I have a very similar list of parts with the only difference being that instead of z32 n/a hubs, I purchased the ichiba rear hubs. I'm really dead set on using the z32 rear calipers and understand that I can't use my stock e-brake with them because there is no hook to connect it to.
I've gotten a bunch of different opinions on how to hook up an e-brake. Supposedly there is compatibility issues with the z32 drums/shoes and the ichiba rear hubs. I'm not sure whether or not this is true. I've gotten people saying I should run a hydraulic e-brake to replace my current e-brake. I've even gotten people saying to run dual calipers in the back.
Any advice?

Actually, skyline rear hubs don't have that tab, they simply use a thicker anchor bolt

Is this Michel? Lol.
Anyway, Adam gave me more information about your car and you don't just want to rely on putting the car in park to secure your car in place.
And as I explained to you before, hydro brakes are also not like e-brakes in a sense that they are not cable operated. With that said, you won't be able to lock the car in place like an emergency brake will if you run a hydro and/or a dual caliper set up.
Why run a dual caliper set up for a daily driver? Why run a hydro for a daily driver? If you want to lock the car in place when parking, the simply answer is to have an e-brake.
And since Ichiba is an aftermarket hub, Killer answered your question:

S14/some Z32 NA hubs did not come with the tabbed part of the hub which is used for the Z32 drum. The spacer/washer used is to simulate the tabbed portion of the hub.

I have a complete z32 E-brake setup with cables and everything that I could sell you. Comes with the adapter plates needed to run the 2+2 cables as well. I decided that I want to run a hydraulic emergency brake rather than this setup. if you're interested then shoot me a pm.
