Hey, so i searched all over the internet to figure out how to remove the sound proofing from my gutted 240sx after being to lazy to buy a bunch of dry ice and not wanting to spend 20hrs with a chisle and hammer, I got inovative. And remembered I had a dremel!
http://www.scrollsawer.com/thumbnail.php?file=issues/ssw36/Dremel-Multi-Max-0887.jpg&size=article_medium
and they have an attachment.

after about 3 hours i had a bunch of small peices left so i took a grinding wheel with a wire brush attachment.

and as a product it looked like this.

then for those who might be interested i primered it.

and then came the bronze.

and after three coats came the primer.

and after mounting my sub and a few speakers and tucking the wires, the finished product.

thanks Mr. Potter, and yea its a multi max, all it does is osalate, there are a few different brands out there I think, I picked this one up for 70$ on sale and the tip for 15$ (just finished the back seats and the tip is ravaged)

how about dry ice AND this??
get dry ice
put it on the floor panel on both side
cover it up with a garbage bags so its takes longer for the dry ice to evaporate
after sometime, remove the ice.
takeout whatever that's loose
take the dremel and go nuts on whatever that's still there
clean it up with a wire brush wheel
DONE

Dry ice will remove anything. Especially rubberized sound deadener.
Dry ice + hammer and chisel will get it all

I think it takes minutes with dry ice. Been a while since I done it last time. But dry ice is the most simplest and easiest way. Cover with ice, wait, hit with rubber mallet a few times and pick up parts n throw away, can't see that taking more then 30minutes. Plus you don't have to waste money on dremel bits and electricity. Cost of dry ice was about $5.

Another method is to leave your car in well below freezing temps for about a day or 2 then it will mostly come out with a hammer and an hours time. never thought to use a dremel

Dry ice literally takes like 10 minutes.
Break up the block, or buy the "Pills" (looks like styrofoam pills)
Spread em around.
Lay garbage bags over it.
Have a smoke.
Remove Bags
Tap the sound deadening from the middle, out.
Clean it up.
It takes about 5 minutes on a warm day for the dry ice to freeze the sound deadening to the point where it cracks off.
I finished a car in under an hour. The tricky part was getting the ice to sit on any Vertical parts of the car. (Wheel wells, Trans tunnel) And you need to have it sit directly on top of the sound deadening. Not on the bare sheet metal. Give it some time, and you'll have much less to wire wheel off.

Cars are normally 'gutted' to reduce weight...
Yet, you still have a big speaker box, amp, 6x9's in the rear corners...???????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????
...just an observation.
It looks nice, I'll give you that.

I would agree, i actualy bought it from some highschool kid who gutted it already and just left it this nasty ate up white, im not to concerned about 30 pounds so I ran a cheap system and made it look good witch is all i wanted, you cant see the front of the car but it has the carpet and stuff, it's super nappy and im attacking it with "tuff stuff" atm its cleaning up pretty good, i just want to have a clean car lol... kinda funny sayin that about an 240 lol
Where do you get dry ice?

ive found that sometimes you can just use a hammer and hit it and it will just break. but dry ice is best. causes it to get hard and it shatters
