NAH DOOD
dont pay anyone its not hard
my friend did his by himself on a gravel driveway (yeah he is nuts)
its not hard. he did it all in 1 full day
best bet: get soem friends over, buy them lunch/dinner and work on it! its not rocket science and very straight forward
dont pay or labor on it!
good luck to yas!

damn too bad you're in cali... i want to learn how to do this too. i'd be over there in a sec if i lived wc. but i'm a noob working on my car and i don't have a backup beater to drive to ferry workdays. so if i can't finish in a weekend i'd be screwed. :T put up pics and any stuff weird/educational man! i would rather take a couple days off work then pay labor to drop a used ka24 into my car though...
oh and good luck 2 you! :)

I did the exact same thing you are doing. I took a 95 motor and tranny and put it in my car using my intake and exhaust manifolds so I didn't have to change the ECU or harness. It was pretty easy. The hard part was cleaning up the engine bay and the transmission bay. More of a pain in the ass actually. You can email me if you have any questions. Go get a gasket set so your newer motor has a fresh start.
