Hey everyone, I had a few questions about wheel spacers for an s14. Currently I have my winter wheel/tires on, and they are pretty damn skinny, 15x6.5. I want to get wheel spacers to get them a little more flush to the fender. What brand would you guys recommend, and how many mm, and how much? Do these just slide right onto the stock hub?

Try talking to dave @ tougefactory, he sells some spacers, and he is in our neck of the woods (northern burbs of chicago).

But if I were you I wouldnt bother for winter wheel, cuz your gonna need around 30-40mm for a nice job, who do you need to look pretty for in all this snow anyway. Just buy some low offset wheels for summer.

What's the offset on the rims you have on now?

that is too much trouble for just winter tires.....dont' forget you will need longer studs too....

No doubt. Winter tires are winter tires. They look shitty, deal with it :P.

In all seroiusness, though, why are you so worried about how your winter tires look? They'll be off eventually... put that money towards things that will really affect the car when you need it.

Kidynamite: Ive been looking at those for awhile now and I cant tell whether they have the studs on them or not...pic looks like it does but then theres like....5mm, 7mm, 12mm, or somethign close to that and....do you just add those on the wheel studs? Its hard to tell from the pic and since your around his shop I was wondering if you knew about it or not.

Those come with the wheels studs, and you bolt them on to your original studs. However, if your original studs are sticking out, then you will have to cut them.

The 5mm,3mm.... are extra spacers for you to adjust the offset to an exact fit. So the base is 15mm offset, then you can add 3mm to make it 18, or 5mm to make it 20mm.

EDIT: well you beat me to it.

There is also a 7mm add-on

You mean once you add the 3mm then its 12mm...

yeah, the math doesn't add up there. oic, it doesn't subtract the offset.

not 15mm - 3mm

its 15mm and any extra spacers u add onto it, decreases the offset.

No, the point of adding spacers is to decrease the offset. NOT increase it. The spacer may increase in size, but the spacer emulates a lower offset as the mounting point gets closer to the zero offset.

I know I passed the 1st grade thats for sure....

When adding spacers doesnt mean the offset number goes higher. Its not really ADDING but it decreases the number.

and yes, 15+3 does = 18:D

oh yeah, btw back on topic, you dont really need spacers for stock wheels if you just gonna use them for winter. Winter (i think) is almost over.

drift - we are talking purely of the spacer itself, not its effect on the wheels.

The spacers add up in mm.

When on the car they don't do anything but push the wheels.

right, so it still wouldn't be 15-3

if you want to be completely technical, then sure its the offset of the wheels you will be using

minus (15mm offset base plus 3mm, 5mm, or ....whatever else extra spacers included).

:D

I think 240sx2Nur just wanted teh wheels to be more flushed
