Need help from Bay Area folks who know how to read ecu codes

I'm currently looking at a 1995 240sx.the problem with the car is that the check engine light is on the and seller doesnt know what's causing it. It would be cool if someone can come with me to check what's causing the check engine light.I will pay you if can help me out. Thanks

you should pick up a chiltons. It will help you alot, once you know how to read codes, you can search the code on google.

Where are you from?

Do NOT buy a car with a check engine light unless the seller has already smogged it (within 90 days).

You will fail smog check just because the light is on; so you can't register it.

i do believe you can check the codes thru the ecu lights... GOOGLE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND
