Aight well some of you might be familiar with my problem pertaining to getting 8.5" wide tires up front, with coils. I think that the best way to get them in there, without having more camber than I'd like (-3 degrees) is to use some wide fenders. So far I've found Charge Speed, Vertex, and Abroad. What do you guys think about those three brands? I don't really see a difference between them besides how they look... do they all have perfect fitment? This should work right?
Thanks,
John

Yeah They are all okay companies but you won't need them to fit those specs. With that particular with and offset you are gonna go with it should be fine. But if you really want to get some wide fenders either contact www.jspec.com or you can go to www.gtpro.com and get some M Sport Wide fenders for your car there too.

DUDE, your rims will be fine...
currently i am running 17x8.5 +22 up front, STOCK camber settings, 215-40-17...
it clears coils AND z32 brakes by a mile....
hell, i fitted 17x9.5 +22 up front with a 235-40-17 STOCK camber settings and it FITS, NO rubbing, no clearance issues, NOTHING!!

The thing is though, he'll be running 18s. Plus he doesnt want to run stretched tires either.

Exactly, I'll be running 18X8.5 +30 w/ 5mm spacer and 235/40's.

hmm im assuming this is for a s13... but im sure fender rolling is an option?

wheel diameter doesnt matter....
18x8.5 +25 (with spacer) with 235-40-18 will fit with slight negative camber (not too far from stock)...MAYBE rolled fenders...
hell, i know a person locally that is running 18x.5 +24 235-40-18 on his S14, fits Fine! no clearance/rubbing...
id just go with those +22 offset, that way it will eliminate the need for a spacer....
like i said, i fitted a 9.5 +22offset with a slight stretch of 235-40 up front and there is still room between the inner tire and my Cusco Zero 2 coilovers...big enough room for me to stuff 245-40 in there!

Really? Isnt a 245/40/18 taller than a 245/40/17?
Just wondering, cuz a friend of mine runs 18x9.5 +19 offset with 245/40s and vertex wide fenders and he still rubs under hard cornering.

If your rubbing its prolly just the plastic on the inner fender liner.
You'll have to remove that when you change fender anyway.
Plus the main harness will need to be moved a little and it is a good idea to make a small skid plate to cover it in case you do bottom out.
I have JIC FLTA2+ FN01RC 18x8.5 +22 front 235/40/18 avs100
18x9.5 + 22 rear + 25mm spacer
w/ 265/35/18
using M's Sport front and rear over fender.

Well first of all this is for an S14. And where did you get the FN1RC's in 8.5 width with a +22 offset? The lowest one published on 5Zigen's site is +30.

sucks you didn't research more...if you were getting 18's why not go with 18x9.5 +12...now those are tight wheels...

WTF does that mean? I've researched a ton and still am. First of all I said 8.5 width, not 9.5. Second of all, those wont fit in the back with stock fenders, non-stretched tires, etc., I've already decided what I want in the back.

it means just what i said...
your wheels pale in comparison to the sizes i denoted above...trust me, i'm quite aware your wheels are 18x8.5...but in my opinion, which is just that, you should have gotten 18x9.5...no reason not to really...
rolled, STOCK, fenders are cake to do and look better...stretched tires are usually cheaper, as they are smaller width, and look better..camber looks better...wheels would look a million times better with the bowled in center...
anyway, like you said...you already decided...just sucks when it's the wrong decision...in my opinion..

If you dont mind me asking, whats wrong with streching your tires?
Also you can fit a 9.5 in the rear of an S14. You can fit up to 10 with at least a +30 to +20 offset if im not mistaken.( I know henry would know the answer.)
Help me out Nitekids! HA HA.:)

If you dont track your car that often, basically just a street car, then running stretched tires isnt very practical. I mean whats the point?

Well nokeone and Levi, I'm talking about front tires/wheels. I'm getting 9.5 in the rear, but I'm talking about the front, I don't think it's possible to get 9.5 up front EVER w/out massive camber, stretched tires, new fenders, and even more.
What's the downside to stretched tires?

My bad, typo, but I accept complete responsibility. HOWEVER, had you read the first post you would have known. Besides, the post with the typo came AFTER you critisized me.

touche...i accept that your first post was correct...
dif'rnt strokes for dif'rnt folks...
i stand by my thoughts on your wheels and their respective sizes...i think the minor additional work to fit a different sized/offset wheel in the front would more then make up for itself in the improved looks of the vehicle...
not to mention i can't imagine the rears are what i would approve of for size/offset either...
but who the hell am i?..right?..it's your car, not mine...
good luck with it..

Well I'm going with 18X9.5 in the back with a +22 offset. I'm not extreme enough to get the +12... to bad there's nothing in between. I really wish they had a +25 or so for the fronts (8.5) but so far I don't think they do, at least that's according to 5Zigen's website. So I'm forced to use the +30 w/5mm spacer (smallest offest offered).

actually those rears are quite acceptable by my retarded standards..lol..
