I have a mechanical Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge that I am installing on my KA24E.

I have found in my searches that it is easy to hook it up to the stock oil pressure switch by the oil filter. I couldn't find anywhere in my FSM or my searches what thread pitch the hole is. I did find a post on FA that said that on a S14 SR the size is 1/8" BSPT, but my semi-rural town of Rolla doesn't carry any fittings in that size.

So I guess my questions are: Has anyone installed a mechanical Autometer gauge on a KA24E? Did you need an adaptor? What size was the adaptor?

Thanks for any help

BSPT is a funky threading... I don't think there is even a place in Phoenix that stocks them. I would just go to www.mcmaster.com and get a 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT adapter fitting for $4.00. You can have them ship it overnight and it will be like $12.00.

The mcmaster part # is 4860K141

Thanks for the help brage. Summit racing also has some fittings from autometer if anyone searches and finds this, but they are more expensive.

Ok, now that I got my fitting, I have another question.

The instructions just say to hook up all the lines and then you are done, but when I install the line from the pressure sending unit to the gauge, it is filled with air:confused: Since I am sure air compresses differently than oil, is there a bleeding process to get the air out? The instructions don't really address this.

:aw: anyone with a mech oil pressure gauge?
