So I'm removing everything and planning to pull out my sr20 and put it on an engine stand so I can replace a bunch of things on it and I wasn't sure if it's easiest just to disconnect the drive shaft and pull the whole engine and tranny out at once or if it's easier just to disconnect the tranny under the car and just pull the engine out without it.

Some of the trans to engine bolts are a PITA to get too. Personally I'd pull everything as a unit, that is if you have the space to store it.

way easier in my opinion to pull it out as a whole. I can pull mine out in about an hour but it would take me longer than that just to take off the tranny.

The most annoying part about just removing the engine is lining it back up with the trans during installation. Just take the whole thing out.

Trans bolts are pretty annoying to remove but I've done both ways plenty of times. It helps if you have a swivel socket adapter and an extra set of eyes and hands.

Pull the whole thing. You will waste more time lining the engine and transmission in the long run.
