Hows idle? Gonna be bad. What fuel management? What intercooler? Looks like a 1st gen eclipse ic based on placement.

looks pretty clean(whole engine bay and install), but I'm also wondering where your MAFS is located. Nice stuff though. Give us some details on the setup man. Whats up w/ you giving us all these nice pics, but no stats?
Also, I forgot to mention, I'm likin' that custom heat sheild over the manifold.

i guess your asking how the idle is because you didnt think i had a mafs. idle is perfect. i got the ic off ebay. it said it was a stock r33 smic. however it looks alot like the 1st gen ic. heres a pic:

Nice setup. Loost the yellow. How does it drive? Does the power come on suddenly or is it pretty smooth?

yes i know, the wires have been on there since i got the car.
the power is fairly smooth. my wastegate is leaking and its overboosting so i havent been able to drive it hard yet. but from what i can tell its its pretty damn fast.

Not bad....I'm with everyone when I say loose the yellow. So where did you get all your custom pieces? Are you using a stock bottom end? If so, how many miles on the engine?

I think I remember reading somewhere that having the MAFS that close to the filter messes up your MAFS readings because the air coming through the filter doesn't have time to get itself together before going through the MAFS. Is that right??

Umm...no. The *stock* Nissan MAFS is BOLTED to the airbox. It sits like 2 inches from the filter. My MAFS is attached to a cone filter via an adaptor. It works fine. Where did you get this info?

no i dont think so, on my intake i had before, the mafs bolted to the filter. and if i remembers right, on the stock intake its right after the air box.

Excellent install and a very clean engine bay. Although the PS fluid resivoir looks a little cramped. I believe I saw your post on FA too. Ha, anyway, looks great.
Did you happen to find any pics of the manifold before you bolted it on?

yes the ps resivoir is a little cramped, but it fits in there ok, i just need to make a braket for it. i was going to relocate it but i couldnt really find a better spot for it.
i can't find any manifold pics, but i will be taking it back off next week to put my new wastegate on so ill try to get some then.

besides the wastegate....do you have any plans in the future? new IC piping for a FMIC?
Hey im the new guy in these forums, my names chris i have a 91 hatch with an sr on the way. Id just like to say great job with that turbo install man. Very clean and very good work. I was just wondering how you went about doing the custom downpipe cuz im gona do the same with the sr instead of payin 130 for one. Anybody want to give me any info email me at
[email protected] thanks every1.

for now i plan on keeping the sidemount because i really dont plan on doing any internal work on the engine and upping the boost to where i would need a fm.
-the downpipe was pretty simple. i made it out of 2.5'' piping because the outlet on the turbo was like 2.25''. i just had a 90deg. bend and a straight pipe. i cut off part of the 90 to the right angle i needed and welded on the straight pipe. from the stock 240 exhaust i unscrewed the O2 bung and welded that in there and i also cut of one of the flanges and welded it right after the 02 sensor so it would be easier to disasemble. the other opption is to have a muffler shop make one for you but i would reccomend having one do it that has a mandrel bender.
