dont know what the deal is, had it running fine with ngk 5's at idle never drove with the plugs switched to ngk 6's and now it runs like dog shit. one of the plugs wasnt sparking so i switched it with a new one still misfires some where when i can actually get it to start it has like 10 lbs of vaccum and dark smoke pours out of the exhaust. basically just not having it. i checked all plugs, they spark, checked the coils theyre fine.. injectors are spraying obviously lol idk im lost. if you can think of anything to help fix the problem please post! ill pay you if it works hah i dont care i want my car to run right..

what are the plugs gapped to? They should be gapped to .028-.030
check ECU for codes

check your ignition harness or your ignitor. mine was doing something similar, and i checked my harness and there were like 8 splices on it where the person that did it just twisted the wires together and taped them

Ecu code is 55. So that doesn't help much gap is. 35 but it runs terrible

another thing i was thinking, my friend reminded me that the car sat for a while with no motor any chance it could be bad gas ya think? cause i put about two gallons of fresh premium in and the my friend who owned the shell before me parked it with gas and it had been sitting for damn.. atleast 6 months probably more. we think this cause when we put the 2 gallons in it gave me just over a quarter tank now it has about a quarter and it is all of a sudden running like crap?
but again ive checked -
Coils
coil harness
got new plugs
and thats really the only things ive changed makes no sense which is why im wondering if its just shitty gas or something.

and cbcm my harness has 2 cut wires but they were spliced for my dakota digital tach translator. my friend owned the motor before me and it ran perfect. so i dont think that could be it. but thank you! think of anything else just blurt it out im down for any suggestions guys!

might sound stupid but, you stated that car was running fine .... then you changed plugs. Hence it started misfiring.
1. check connectors @ coils , make sure they click when connecting them.
2. Your engine may not like the new plug number.Switch back to old plugs ,see if it fixes it , I doubt Old fuel is causing this.
Good luck

well i didnt think so either, but i did switch back to the old plugs and no difference. im gonna try to change the gas just incase i guess doesnt hurt to try. but i did check the springs on the inside of the coils to and made sure they were making contact and were clean. is anyone else as stumped as i am? haha
i do however have yellow jackets coils. maybe ill switch them back to stock and see if that makes a difference
PS - if anyone has a nice rb spark plug harness ill buy it!

compression test it .Lower vacuum readings directly related to engine misfiring may be a result of a burned exhaust valve.

thats what i was trying to avoid. valves crossed my mind but still doesnt really make sense you know? i looked in the cylinders no chunks of anything but i mean wouldnt hurt ill give it a shot ive never compression tested this motor, thanks man keep em coming!

Drain the tank and put fresh fuel in it... Check base timing, adjust the CAS, basic things first, and it also eliminates items. Unplug your MAF and see if that changes your idle.

i unplugged the maf and it made a difference it still ran kinda rich. cleared a little but still pretty bad then idle just surged till i plugged it back in. im gonna put new gas in it and see what it does. if that doesnt work im going at the tps, maf, cas, iacv, all that with a volt meter and making sure they are in proper specs.
