Please help. i just tore down a ka24de. bearing showed minor wear, but to prolong life of engine i went ahead and replaced rod bearings and main bearings. i have driven the car approx. 140 miles. and the last 2 miles of that it started to knock. how could this be if crank and block and rods were in good shape. Could it be cause i went with standard size bearings? the motor didnt have a knock before i tore it down. could it be that each rod requires a specific size bearing(each one different). please help...... thanks

could be oil pump is bad and not enough oil pressure

so u think the bearing wasnt the problem, just the oil pump which caused lack of oil???

Your oil light should go on if you have low oil pressure. Did you do the work yourself?

yea i did the work myself.... oil light came one twice both times at idle and only for 1 secx each time. figured bad connection at oil sending unit. checked the connection. thats the only oil light that ive seen

You should be good with the standard size bearings... If you gauged the bearings to factory spec then it was prob a oiling issue... Not enough oil pressure will cause a rod knock... Drop your oil pan and see what's going on in there
