Mods- Apologies if this thread does not belong here. I concluded the questions I asked would warrant this area better. If it does not, please place in the correct area and I will work harder next time at getting it right. Nothing like a noob messing things up lol. At least I type clearly.
New here, as well to the 240forums site, but feel this site might be more to my likings. I recently traded my SR swapped S14 SCCA car for this one.I have 6 240s from stock a 90 hatch with 180 windows to my flagship I will introduce. I will later ask for input on rim selection, suspension and any other input to make this a better car.
92 clean title Coupe
mostly stock RB25DET
mostly tucked underhood wire harness to include fuse in the glovebox
Origins stylish widebody kit
Silvia brick glass front end
Greddy intake plenum
Greddy titanium full exhaust
FULL DEFI custom gauge "cluster"
DEFI HUD
5 lug swap with LSD
Interior is being done in black and blue tweed as we speak
Carbon hood
roll bar ready to go in
This list could go on and on, but now for pics. I do not have a selection on suspension or rims yet. I was thinking a good deal on some used HKS or try out the EMUSA stuff. I know its night and day, but several of my cars use their stuff and I think Im pleased. My 94 Supra has their 50mm wastegate and bov and Im
very happy with them. As far as rims, Im leaning towards a 25offset 18' XXR 521 in gold but am thinking about having them done in a neon green powder, along with the roll bar. I think it would be a nice contrasting scheme. ????????
Pics...
Pre paint and body... still very rough here.

Does anybody know how to turn the wheels green on the last pic I posted. I have a MAC and I dont have any kind of program that lets you do stuff like that. I got a buddy to do that much but cant do much more. If so, I am thinking a pastel neon green like an easter egg green. Anybody disagree with it???

Why would you rock pastel neon green wheels on a blue car!?! shit would look horrible, go with white wheels or Gold wheels now that would be sexxxy!!! and I hope your getting something wider than a 10" wheel or else its gonna look like ass with the widebody....Nice paint job BTW....

The body work was a 3wk job around 130ish hours. Many coats and effort into the actual spray added on too. Previous owner did amazing job over half dozen years to get it where it only cost that much to perfect. When I say perfect... I mean PERFECT. A kid from Japan, comes to KS and sees this car, he will start talking Japanese!!!. Fitment is 100% perfect. Detail is 100% perfect. Exterior is at least a 19 outta 10.
Interior is being done in black and blue tweed in an OEM manner.
AS FAR AS THE GREEN...
I have a roll bar for the Takatas that I want to match the wheels.

18x10 is the choice, but have spacers as a last resort. Looking into a suspension setup to help kick out the bottom of the rim and pull in the top.
OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS HERE AS I ASSUME IM NOT THE FIRST TO TRY THIS.
Have been looking, reading, spying and asking for input and alot of stuff on EBAY. Def. tell who makes junk for Nissans lol.

That's called negative camber. Adjustable suspension arms are a must. You are correct in assuming that you are not the first to try this; it's been done for roughly 2.4 million years.
Wheel Fitment Whore Thread (http://zilvia.net/f/chat/129865-wheel-fitment-whore-thread-stretch-flush-no-specs-no-post.html)
Have a ball in there.
Please do not desecrate this beautiful car with eBay parts. And with that widebody, stuff some 12J's in the rear. 10J's would do it no justice at all.

Ive been around for about that long and doesnt sound familiar lol.
Im aware of what it is, Looking into a longer lower control arm so as to not have to mess with the rest. I want the wheels to ride tucked or just go with 16s.
As far as 12j goes, not a chance!!! I dont like the look, the dish or anything about them. i will rock the 10s, but thats as deep as I will go.

NOOO. Not for suspension. I was thinking GODSPEED for the camber/toe kit. Suspension we will probably go with a used HKS setup. I would like input on that and I know buying used is always a gamble but the car will rarely get driven and simply only be there to say it is. Also the car is for Sale once completed ($11k), and I want components to make it justified in price.
I know stance is good, I have them on my SR S14.
Darren
01-18-2012, 09:09 AM
i have the stance gr+ pros, i would recommend them to you, or anyone for that matter, but for a build of this caliber, definitely go with the fortune autos or SPL.
DON'T go with Godspeed! lol
Edit: Don't Go with Godspeed!... even for the toe / camber arms... go with something with more R&D into it, like a PBM or SPL product....

Godspeed is garbage... SPL for your suspension arms. Get better coilovers than the ones recommended. KW, HKS, ZEAL, MOTON are all good options, then again if you just want to be like every other stance fan boi stick with the ones recommended.

Fortune Auto are great, they have a ton of info on this site.
SPL for the multilink suspension arms, and for coils, just look around this site, there is more than enough information to fill a couple of weeks of reading.
Zeal, Fortune Auto, Stance, PBM, HKS, D-Max (my personal favorite)... there is a very long long list of quality coilovers you can choose from.

Sorry bro..for you to spend bread like that on the body and consider getting xxr 521 doesnt match up..if your gonna go all out..go all out..get some boss ass wheels with good width and offset..even if you decide to do the centers green it will look much better with proper wheels for a wide body
myfuzzybutt

I like XXR wheels. They are not the most prestigious rims, but all 4 of my cars look good with them. Maybe go with the 526.

Pretty much been confirmed...
HKS suspension has been purchased
XXR 521 18x10 in lime green,
XXR 521 18x10 5x114.3 5x120 +25 NEON GREEN WHEELS RIM 350Z G35 240SX HELLAFLUSH | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/XXR-521-18x10-5x114-3-5x120-25-NEON-GREEN-WHEELS-RIM-350Z-G35-240SX-HELLAFLUSH-/270894934463?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f1298a9bf#ht_3443wt_1141)
Seats are OEM seats, but my interior guy added in a bit more meat on the bottom and side bolsters and doing black tweed outside with deep blue inside.
Will post pics but they look great.

I just wanna get this straight.. Youre building this car just to sell it? Are you trying to make a profit?
Are you asking me if I'm seeking a profit seriously???
$4500 paint
$4500 swap
$3000 wheels,tires and suspension
That's a thousand more than my asking and I haven't include the wide body, 7 DEFI gauges, brand new trim, interior and glass and so much more.
Obviously I'm building to build. It matters to me personally what is out there that fanatics prefer when I build. That way I can increase the likelyhood of a sell to what pleases me as a return.
If you guys don't like the way I'm building it, though much if not most of it has been done with enthusiasts input, then start a thread called "we don't like what he's doing to the blue RB swapped brink front end coupe". Several have been helpful with guidance that I asked and negativity is still guidance, but not wanted. I can't believe I haven't gotten shit for doing a coupe instead of a hatch.

you want that car to be worth 11k? get motor work done, not just a stock ass rb, idc if its a 25 or 26. and name brand suspension, stay off ebay. 11k = motorwork, big brakes, nice interior(modded) and suspension thats nice (psm, stance) even then your pushing the 11k price...no matter what you put into it remember a 240sx still cost about 1200 bucks stock and just because your dumping money into it wont mean you'll make the money back.

Alright. Been a while but have a few new pics. Went with the HKS for suspension, DRIFZ Venoms in 18x9.5 all the way around. Tires were stretched ALOT and the new interior went in. Yes, I need to go a little lower on the stance, but in do time. I will get more pics but these pics were from IFO Wichita over the weekend. Somehow, I got no awards for either the Silvia nor the Supra. :wtf:
NOTE...
The cars were parked in a "ditch" so the backs are low and the fronts are up in the air. The front bumper is actually about 4" off the ground.

Didnt like em. I dont like the deep lips for some reason. I am about to throw away the 20"s on the Supra cause they make me angry. I got the suspension on two nights before the show and didnt have much drive time to find how it would ride. Not least bit interested in destroying all the work that had gone into the body. Turns out I can go another 2" inches without worry but will go an 1" and see.
Shes a bit under construction still.
