Greetings all. I'm somewhat new to the forums and the 240 community and would like to get to know everyone. I'm planning a meet on a Saturday, hopefully next month, in the Southern California area. In the morning we would meet for breakfast at a Denny's (8:30?) and go for a morning canyon run in Azuza or the Topanga Canyon area (10:00?). We'll then grab lunch (12:00?) and cruise Pacific Coast Highway (1:00?), hit a beach parking lot, take pictures and talk a little. Please no hot shots on the canyon runs, I don't want to risk endangering the lives of each other (I've heard stories from ClubSI and the BMW meets). As a previous Supra owner, I've gone to numerous meets and would like to meet the same kind of enthusiasts for the 240. I hope to make it worth your while by bringing my friend from LS Automotive and my brother from Turbo Evolution. All cars are welcome.

Thanks for your time.

p.s.
I know there are a number of So Cal people out there. I was at the 2002 240sx Convention with the other Supras!

Ehh..I wouldn't worry about how your car looks..I'd rather look at a stock 240 than a riced out Honda.

The amount of gas you might use depends on your driving habits. I'd prepare for a full tank.

Thanks.

No one will make fun of you. Anyone who makes fun of a stock car is a fucking idiot anyway!

I'm still trying to figure some canyons that are feasible for us to cruise on. Topanga Canyon can be hit off the 101 N. We could also hit up Mulholland Drive. We could hit up PCH from there down to the Huntington Beach area into a beach parking lot. I'll set up an itinerary and try to make it more organized than just a 'meet'. Thanks all.
Hopefully my car will be done by the beginning of February. The shop doing the swap is having probs.

Ok people. It’s on for sure. FEBRUARY 21, Saturday. Here is the itinerary:

8:30/8:45am:
Denny’s
546 W. Baseline Rd.
Glendora, CA 91740

8:45/9am:
Azuza Canyons.
From Denny’s get onto the 210 fwy WEST.
Exit Azuza and make a RIGHT.

11am:
PCH cruise. From Azuza, take the 210 fwy EAST. 57 fwy SOUTH.
22 fwy WEST. Exit Brookhurst and make a LEFT or south (I’m avoiding Beach blvd because of the possibility of local authorities. It’s up to your discretion to take it). Make a RIGHT onto PCH.

11:30am/12pm: Bolsa Chica State Beach parking.

Plan to meet reps from:
Turbo Evolution
LS Automotive
Superior Nissan

* Prepare for a full tank of gas and fill up before. There is a 76 gas station across the street from the Denny’s.
* Bring enough funds. Plan for breakfast, lunch, and beach parking.
* Please make sure your can is in good running condition.
* PLEASE act in a mature manner. I don’t want to draw the wrong attention to the 240 crowd and will not be responsible for any acts of immaturity.
* Have fun and no hating. We’re all in the same game. All cars welcome. Thanks.

I guess the 240SX owners who will be driving in DD13 won't be attending.

Count me in for half. I'll meet up with you guys around 11am when you hit the fwy on the way to the beach. I have errands in the morning otherwise I would be there early.

One good run is the 2 fwy. But you have to start early if you want a smooth run. Half way up (2-3 hours) has you at the tunnels which can be fun. If you elect to ride the all day ticket then continue all the way over which puts you at Mtn High where you catch the I-15 to go home. Most of the time we choose the half way but instead stop at Necomes Ranch resturant (before the tunnels on the left side) and take pics or whatever for a few hours then leave. Some continue up the mtn while others may go home. Just an idea. Asuza canyon can be rough on really lowered cars cuz of all the tight hairpin curves (uphill). If you are dragging then I'd advise you to raise it slightly.

Hi all and thanks for your support. I recently checked the weather and it may rain Saturday and not Sunday (cloudy). If the weather is not favorable on Saturday, the meet will be held Sunday (22nd) or the next Sunday after D1GP (29th). Mark your calendars. Thanks!

Just to clarify a few things:
-The meet is for those not attending (drifting in) DD. The meet ends at 12 so you can watch after if you want.
-If it rains, we're (DD and I) are both screwed.
-If it rains on Saturday, the meet will be held Sunday. If it rains Sunday then it will be held next Sunday (after D1).
-The meet is supposed to be for 240's only, but I'm not shutting anyone out b/c of what car they drive. One can use their own judgement. If you want to invite someone who doesn't have a 240, that's fine. Just not a whole ricer crew. :rawk:

Sounds like a pretty well-organized meet. Don't fry the bacon.
I'll be at the DD though, supporting friends and just chilling. :)

Speak for yourself.. I'm praying for some heavy down pour and I'm driving in DD13.. It'll be so fun to be slippin' and slidin' in the rain at CA Speedway. I suppose it would suck for the Club4AG's AE86 carshow meet and your little touge run..

just out of curiosity(sp?), and please don't flame cause i'm too lazy to search, does it cost anything (and how much) to watch the event at cal speedway?

adey
02-20-2004, 03:24 AM
Yes, "curiosity". :)
No, no cost to spectate, but spectating is not encouraged.
Basically, come on down! Say what's up to us and get acquainted, just don't bring a bunch of lame friends. Not to insult the maimed, just... you know.

gosuS14

I dont think there were any pics, there were seven cars ..., an nsx, supra, s13 coupe, s13 fastback, s14 zenki, and 2 s14 kouki's. It was fun, yeah early, but the drive was cool and so were the people. Next time more people should come out! I'm sure more people will be heading out to the next one.

I have 3 pics from DRU 180. I don't know how to add them on here, but I'll send the thread from Club240.com:
