somewhere in between.im not rollin' in money over here i do have bills and 2 cars but i dont want cheap parts from a cheap company. just wanted to get some people's inputs...

In my opinion if I had a car just to roll around in and look good herra frush or whatever, i'd just go cheap everywhere. ISIS / Megan / Circuit sports /
If I wanted good suspension for track day or even semi track day use I'd go SPL and build my own set of coilovers.
Anything else i'd consider in between.

if you want budget coils then look into
Fortune Auto
PBM
Stance
all heavily marketed in the US
and all of which also produce their own suspension arms

yeah im daily driving the car right now, until i get my other car down to texas. im still kinda in-between places. im rocking some Tein Super Drift right now, but i need to have the sent back to Tein to be rebuilt, but i need to get front suspension and rear suspension like LCA's, sway bar's, tension rods, all that. obviously when i feel i need them ill spend some $$ and get the Driftworks Knuckles. Ive never heard of SPL ill have to check into them.
this is not a hellaflush all show no go type of car. this is a project/weekend warrior/drift car. driven! not parked hard. been there done that, didnt have fun with the car, sold it bought my first 240. learning to drift. this is my first 240 so im learning as i go and could use all the help i can get

damn, where you been dousan?! you recommend the z32 uprights? i know they're lighter and i've read some of the grip guys swearing by them, but i've also read about binding issues with the shock mounts. i think a few guys have gone back to stock s14 uprights because fixing the issue was too much of a hassle. would you still recommend the uprights for a daily car? worth the time and effort to get them fitting properly? apparently they make a HUGE difference, but i just don't feel like cutting, clocking, and welding the uprights to fix the issue :P

Don't regret this later, save your money just a little longer and go full Powered by Max or just PBM coils and SPL arms. You want your suspension to actually ride nice, not bounce and squeak all over the place.

Ikea/SPL arms (No Battle Version/PBM/Megan/Yamato crap)
none other come close.
S14 LCA boxed and dimple die'd (Nothing better than OEM quality reinforced for strength)
S14 OEM RLCA with heim joints welded on
Solid Subframe bushings
S14 Subframe boxed ends and reinforced like this;
While you're at it throw on some Project Mu 2 piece rotors and calipers. ;)

I've been around. Still lurking
Haven't heard of those issues
I said spl because i believe in a comany that backs their product 100%
They also have an upgrade program and are always open to suggestions and questions
Quality is their number 1 priority and it shows
Every spl product I've ran has been superb. And I'm a damn regular track guy (was and will be again shortly)
Spl is the only suspension arm company is buy. And I've had a many types.
Japanese arms have never impressed me at all. The heims are sub par and lifetime warranty/upgrades are non existant

Odd, SPL is one of the oldest/best companies making links for the s-chassis

agree except for the DG-5 coils
not because they're aren't good (don't know, never ridden on them)
but because there are better options that can be build and supported domestically

been running z32 uprights, as have some friends, on the s14 for a couple of years
ground some material for clearance, replaced bushings with sphericals
no issues
my :2c:
- bargain/entry level coils if you just want to hard park or don't care about your kidneys
- koni yellows or germany/australia bilsteins with GC kit for a compromise between price and perfomance
- NRR Koni 8600 special, KWs, AST 5000 series, Zeal Function for mid level.
- AST duals, Ohlins, Moton for serious business.
never buy coils you can't easily get rebuilt/revalved with a dyno plot provided.

I'm so sick of the s-chassis community thinking megan, stance, etc. ride "GOOD"
They make your car low and absorb some bumps, yes. There are WAAAAAAAY better options out there though that are PROPERLY valved to match springs rates.

I've drove a skyline 1800KM's on Blistein's and they are the softest coilovers I have ever driven with.
I've been in ksports that might as well have been a tube of metal welded to the strut mount to the knuckle.
I have Megan Street's for almost 5 years now, and they still hold up great, I made the mistake of not keeping the threads clean when I went to adjust the height so I have that little issue to work on but that was my own doing not the comany or the coilover.
my setup for daily ( and its working great for me )
Megan Street coilovers
ALL Arms are Battleversion
Modified S14 front 5lug
Z32 Rear 5lug
350Z front brake rotor conversion with 30MM 300zx caliper with Agency power conversion lines
rear 300zx ebrake and brake conversion with PDM conversion lines
rebuilt calipers
the car ride's good, I have it set a bit stiff but for the most part the roads in my area are fairly good and I can afford it that way.
My suggestion for you, if you want low, affordable and decent ride quality is something like my setup, or Blisteins or fortune auto's with SPL arms. the arm's are roughly the same price new for new, but SPL does have the trade in advantage.

Have you ever owned anything OTHER than megan? (don't sound like you did)
Yes, I've owned multiple sets and ridden in other cars with them as well. In the process of replacing a set on my sti with full GC coilovers.
I guess riding good is relative. The roads here SUCK. I can tell when suspension rides properly. Megans never did.... no matter the damping setting.
Only set of semi-cheap coils that shocked me were gp sports gr-6. They rode very well on the street. Little to no bounce.

Zeal Coils are boss IMO. Friend has em on his IS, shit rides likes it on air almost.
I've had Megan's, KSports, Stance, and Shitty Ground Control's. And I can tell you right now that out of that genre the Stance's are soooo much better than those other company's for a few hundred more than the Megan's and all that.
Like said above you wanna be a boss, Ohlins, SPL you CAN'T go wrong.

people who suggest stuff, have you experienced them personally? Not talking to the OG's and such, i've seen/heard about their builds. But yeah, i would recommend, KW/Zeal, or Stance Gr+ or even pro. as for arms SPL, currently my set up is SPL ARMS and Zeal COils, can't complain they do their job.
for title name, i wouldn't say best, if you want the best, make sure you can afford it.

Love my koni 8610 setup.
No comparison to the stances and kts that I've owned.
Also ridden in the jdm ohlins (both s13 and s14 version) and I think the koni stuff is better.
That + all SPL arms, tie rods and all the other fixins you can add for a 240 -- not really worth it, but makes for a fun 240.

Everyone has answered your question ten times if not more. If you are on a budget, you shouldn't have posted this thread. Nothing that is the 'best' will be the cheapest. It wouldn't be the best if it were.
PBM or SPL. Get either or and be happy. If you are a budget and those two for some ungodly reason are too expensive, Fortune Auto or Stance. If you manage to get anything else, you should get banned. Indefinitely.

I think this thread has no base for "Best S13 Suspension" everybody is mainly pointing at brands, and no real specs or type of coilover.
DG-5 Coilovers
Cusco Arms
Most popular setup in Japan on competition level cars, but most of the people in this thread dont have Competition Level cars.
I currently have JIC coilovers in my daily S13 and they are pretty damn stiff, would i buy them nope id rather go something softer with a better rebound and adjustment to suit the driving i do more often, but ive driven in cars with other model JIC's and they ride absolutely smooth and feel great, so i cant go saying JIC as a brand is crap or makes stiff non-streetable suspension it all comes down to the Type of Coilover/Spring Rate/Damper Settings/How old they are.
Older the suspension the more likely the damper wont do anything and they will just be stiff and be on there last legs beginning to knock soon.

because right now im still in the middle of moving to texas from indiana, and my other car that i daily is still in indy along with about 70% of my shit. so financially im pretty broke and can only move my shit down here a little bit at a time. prolly wondering why i didnt bring my daily? well because in august when i first made the move down here i left the car in indy because it was in the middle of getting a b20 swap. (89' civic wagon) i brought my civic coupe down here and sold it and bought a 240 since there 1 in a million in indiana and ive been after one for years now. hopefully this shines some light on everyone. its a big move, i came out here on a limb, and financially im still struggling, so give me a break right now, im doin my best.
this thread has totally gone way in the opposite direction i thought it would go, all i wanted was some people's perspectives and inputs on suspension items. now its just turned to shit and pretty pointless now. i got what i wanted out of this which is to find the good products/companies.
im coming from honda's thats all ive ever owned and delt with, megan racing for honda's isnt a bad company at all. i ordered 1 item from them, tension rods. ive decided im not going to mess with rebuilding the tein's because would take 3-4 weeks to get back and ballpark at least $500 to rebuild if not more depending what all needs done. so im gonna deal with the shit ride for a little longer and get my order in for some PBM suspension.

Depends on what we're talking about. Just arms or coilovers/suspension. Plus there's other variables that some people would consider. Personally, being in the states, you can't beat SPL due to their awesome customer support and warranty. They're all quality, just SPL has more to offer that cusco and kazama if you're statesides.

I have some JDM coilovers (inb4 jdmtyteyo) called Killerbee, supposedly they were imported through ASPEC at some event, I forget. They ride nice and go low and was a good deal. Build quality is nice, better than Megans. Picked up for less than a G.

Killerbee is actually coilovers made by a taiwanese company called Section. The company makes alot of suspension for other name brand companies like Silkroads, Apexi, Greddy, HKS, just to name a few.
