What are the most raceworthy cars you've raced? What were your mods? What were his/her mods? What was the outcome?

The only good races I had was when I had my MK3 supra. I was against my friend's '90 Mustang GT. He had the Cobra conversion (motor also), 3.73 gears, intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys, etc. We were on the freeway. I downshifted to 3rd and beat him by 1 1/2 -2 cars to 130. My mods at the time were filter, downpipe, HKS sport exhaust (dual tips) and .85 bar on the EVC.

The 2nd race was with my MKIV vs. my other friend's '98 Cobra.
he had intake, 3.73's, Bassani x-pipe, Magna Flo exhaust and a few other minor mods. I had 3 people in my car including me and he had one. We downshifted from 65. I went to 4th gear. I thought he would get the jump because of his gears but was wrong. I walked away 'til I hit 140 and he was waaaay back there. I guess his gears slowed him down. Supra was bone stock.

I've yet to race anyone in the S14, not enough power yet. Thanks all.

This has been covered and covered over and over again. Do a search. If your comparing a supra and a cobra to a 240SX....well....you see what im saying. There completely different cars.

one having double the power of the other.

I like cobras.

Um lets see, a million Corolla GTS's, a MKIV supra, a Z06, some bimmers, a few FC's...

Just have a stock 240sx.

I haven't raced that much, but the cars i have beaten are rsx-s, integra ls-vtec, my g/f's mustang gt (Girl+automatic= slow car), prelude si.

I raced an s2000, got him on the start and fended him off until about 30. Thats not too bad of a list for a 240 with k&n filter, tires, clutch & flywheel.

That's great and I searched. There are no posts with this topic. Just individual races. I thought there could be just one post and everyone replies, like a sticky.

Of course they are totally different cars and I'm not comparing, just posting road kills and seeing what everyone else has done. Thanks;)

I raced my friends GT for shits and giggles and he killed me but that was expected

i drive it regularly too...fast car

i raced a WRX STI the other day. It killed me. My proudest moment was killing a civic hatch with an integera engine or some damn thing that was supposed to be all fast

I handed it to him!!

They did have a dragstrip setup at an autox I was in. I went up against an SRT-4 and had maybe had three car lengths on him through mid second gear. After that though, I was in his rearview.

My g/f was trying, just not on the start. She was too afraid that squeaking her tires would get her pulled over. IMO auto GT's are slow off the line but they are really fast. IDK, maybe i just have a factory freak.

ok well lets see, ive raced a 350z 3 times won all three, raced 3 g35's won all three, raced a 90's 5.0 smoked him.....raced 2 ls civics, creamed them both the second one was faster then the first....raced an altima once....dont know what he was thinking....raced a 330 bmw....not bad but not good.....raced a corvette stingray i dont know where he came from.....way too slow.....raced like 3 wrx;s one off the line....had to catch up to him but that was not a problem either and he had mods which is sad.....raced a not working correctly b16 turbo civic, raced a couple mustang 4.6 gt's both pretty good but still won... everyone else i raced was no competition....except 3 cars

250hp 260 tq friends srt-4 which is like .....just a tiny bit faster then me
gsr turbo integra first car i raced in my 240....he was running 14 lbs of boost....eh.....

i race alot and i have not gotten one ticket or accident in my car....i am responsible as can be, i dont wanna hear any negatory language towards my post :) yay for me.

but one thing i can say.....just because i do it i dont encourage you to do it

I think he's talking about autox, but I still find it hard to believe, unless the Z06 was driven by a novice. But an autox victory would be more likely than a drag race.
I once beat a 01 Porshcchchshse Carrera.:o

Sheat, if we were talking auto x I would have a laundry list of exotic cars.

No, my post was mostly in jest. But I have driven with the above cars on a real track, and I can tell you that it doesn't matter what you have under the hood if you can't use it well.

At the track, mostly stock SR20DET, just a couple of bolt-ons, stock boost, I beat:

LT1 T/A
03 WRX
EJ1 with a B18C
modded SOHC Mustang GT

And a bunch of slower cars.

Been beaten by my friends 240 (running on DR's and 1 bar of boost), a 12 second Z32TT, and thats about it.

I need to make my car go faster

every time i read a thread like this i think that... I have a friend who drives a 2001 stang GT with about 5 grand into the engine and another 2 grand into the suspension and brakes..

Its a violently fast car, and it sounds totally wicked.

God help me he let me drive it once, it does 13 seconds something in the quarter

I promised him one day my two forty would kill his stang,

although theyre nice lookin fast cars, they arent THAT great, they dont handle or stop particularly well and there everywhere you look.


wouldnt kick one out of my garage tho

yes street racing is gh3y but i am guilty...

my car = 95 240sx ka24de very near stock. conditions = foggy, cold, rainy, slick. i was going up a hill coming home from work when i notice a POS teal green mid 90s honda accord tailing my ass. i was in 2nd going like 20 (just came around a hairpin) and just crusing along with traffic when the asshole just pulls on my rear and flips on his gay xenon whatever highs. usually i would just let them pass but i was already in a bad mood that day so i gunned it. i wasn't in my powerband so it was slow until i hit 4k+ on 2nd. i shifted at about 5.5k each gear until 4th @ 80mph low rpms... coming up on another (but wider) hairpin. i didn't limit break cuz i was afraid he would rear end me. so i downshifted to 3rd, braked + neutral to the curve. @ 35mph+ -ish i turned in, then gassed to give myself a little oversteer on a racing line. it was a decent turn and the little fucker behind me tried to take it at the same speed and almost understeered into the oncoming lane. afterwards i realized street racing is ghey, plus i already made him look bad in front of his gf (sitting in passenger seat), so i slowed down... so of course he guns it on the next straightaway and zooms past like he won. grrrr.

street racing is bad. but sometimes u just have one of those days. everyone has a temper right? sorri for the ricerness :bow:

well, i can't race many cars due to the fact that i still have the ka24e. but i've ran alot of hondas. heres a list of what i've raced and defeated.

1989 Integra : CAI
1990 Civic Si : CAI
1992 Integra LS: CAI, header, modified ECU
1992 Integra RS: hubcaps removed ;)
1994 Integra LS : CAI, header
1994 Integra GS : CAI, cat-back exhuast, and who knows what else.
1995 Mustang V6 : Euro tailights ;)
2001 Eclipse V6: body kit, cat-back, CAI
2002 RSX : stock

there you have it. Ka24e owns!

I raced one of those power wheel things the other day.....man it was so close, i had him through 1st, but then he just kept even with me all the way to 190.

canandian money? thats still a lot to only be running 13's in a stang though..

i've never really raced anyone in my 240 or had the desire to. just don't get any satisfaction out of beating someone with a 15 second car, seems kind of pointless.

I had a little "pace" session with a 74' Pantera yesterday..stayed right with him even though I was only on wastegate boost (7.5psi). My AVC-R high setting is for 15psi. So I guess I would have owned him if I knew we were going to play..haha! The guy was cool though..pulled into the other lane and gave me a thumbs up when I came up next to him. Some older guy and his wife...pretty cool though.

where to start, alright ill join in the gay circle jerk but just this once...

well on the street ive creamed several vipers, viper acr once, and a couple z06s, one with mods all i could tell was exaust at the stoplight after that he was behind me the whole time. new m3 with mods, a b20/vtec runing on race gas on slicks, in a caged (should have been trailored) eg a while ago that was funny, hmm i dunno what else turbo 911 (several) a new evo, a new srt4, a new sti, (always trying to mess with me on the way home) a couple other eg's that were really loud and kept up in 1st, hmm um at the track ive raced a couple high hp cars a 400whp wrx i beat him by about .3 sec several times, a 375 whp evo i beat him by 3 tenths of a sec, a trailored turbo integra on slicks beat him by about 4 tenths of a sec. I was beaten by a 700whp+ supra at pomona by 1 tenth of a sec.

i cant count how many mustangs ive beaten, i cant even remeber the last time one beat me. I think i was driving a stock single cam way back then. I raced one mustang with 100shot of nitrous and nittos pretty close in 1st and mid way thru second then its was over. i coudnt count how many car lengths.

i have long gears too car could be faster with 4.3 diff instead of 3.90 and stock sr tranny. total expenditure till today on car including the car itself is prolly about 10k, still needs a paint job and a couple other things tho.

drag racing is fun, havent been out to the streets in a while with the new turbo thats goin to change soon.

Hmmm for some reason I call BS on this last post. What do you have done to ur car? What do you run 1/4 mile. Low 11's? Must be to be "creaming" Vipers and Z06's :rolleyes:

ive been drag racing the sr for a year straight in competiton now, pro am rwd class for idrc out here in socal as well as getting my feet wet late in the season with nhra and pomona. if you have ever been on freshalloy i go by the sn RPSport steve, been drag racing the car for a long time. used to street race a lot. the car has hit consistant high 11s on street tires and pump gas, and a month before that i was runing 12.2-12.0s consistantly with a smaller compressor turbo. trap speeds are between 119-121 currently with last 60ft of 1.9. looking for 1.7s with new suspension setup...

the car is single turbo , completely stock sr20det redtop engine (tomei ras only internal mod) 62-1/t3 hybrid turbo(yet to track it with this comp wheel ran the stated times with 60-1 wheel), tuned ecu with s-afcII, z32 maf, 555cc inj (supposedly flow 600cc thanks to a tune up at rc) nismo fpr, denso 295lt/hr fuel pump (internal) stock rear suspension, engine torque dampner, 6 puck act clutch unit, stock flywheel, and
3 inch custom turbo back exaust with dynomax muffler and n1 single style muffler in back. tial 38mm wastgate, custom top mount manifold (made by myself) all the tuning was done by myself as well as everything on the car.
no two step rev limiter, stock igniton, stock head gasket even! haha

the car is my daily driver its waitng for a cage, a power fc, and bigger injectors, then some day ill get cams.

its all in the tuning and the setup. the car is specifically setup for drag racing and high speed runs. turns ok but not a drift car and not really togue worthy, if i swap out the rear shock/spring for agx/sportline the car handles just fine in the moutains when i want to.

ive done several motorswaps in the la/socal area and helped many people with bungled swaps. come out the drag strip in march ill be trying to go for a record with only the afc for tuning.

have you ever been at the dragstrip with stock or even modded z06s runing the 1/4, ive seen anywhere from 12.8-13.8 out here in cali. i saw one that was slicked down run a 13.0. ITs all in the driver and the modifications and the tuning to the old pushrod fuel injected reinvented 5.7 liters. They are fast for what they are but my car is consistantly faster than evern moded z06s ive raced. And on the issue of vipers, i personally like the viper as a car but i mean its a massive 8 liter (now 8.3 liter) engine in a small car. I dont lie they are fast maybe they were just in the wrong hands but i have spanked several.

dont think that motortrend or car and driver times are 100% right for every car in anyones hands at any given time.

the sr20det is a highly durable highly reliable and capable engine for its size, hp per liter capability with turbo and balance in design. Thats why i continue to use it and love it. But all cars are only fast or reliable with the right care and in the right hands.
