I have the isis t-25/28 replacement turbo on my ka-t with the drain line going to the oil pan like normal but it seems to be backing up and overflowing the system. the line comes down and the makes a 90 degree turn and runs about 6 inches before going into the oil pan. is this the problem or did i get a bad turbo?

I have the same turbo on my KA, and my oil line goes verrrry slightly uphill at the end of the line. I occasionally notice that I'm burning oil sometimes after idling for awhile, and I can't say if the line is backing up, or if it's the turbo. I get a decent amount of blue smoke but it stops after a minute or two. I'm going to try to get a clear drain tube to check that out, and if not, maybe it's the turbo.

Are you running a restrictor to the turbo? With that said only BB turbos need them. You shouldn't have any uphill areas in the line. Is your oil pan tapped below the oil level line? It should be tapped at the highest point on the pan possible. Just some ideas that may be causing your "backing up" issue.
Coupe, I'd trim the line little by little until that uphill slope is gone.

It's routed in a way that basically makes that impossible. I have ac, but I probably should've had it tapped more towards the rear of the car. It's tapped right by the ac bracket, so much that I had to grind down the bracket to get the line on. Only way to get it up through all of the stuff in the way is to go flat or maybe like 5 degees downhill for like 5-6 inches. I will change the 5/8th in line with a clear one to see if it is causing problems, thats the best thing I can do I think. I'm using a .060 restrictor on my setup, but with -4an feed. Not to threadjack but would a -3an line with no restrictor be better than using what I am using?

I think what you are using is fine... -3 without a restrictor will flow way more oil.
