So I have a random weird issue - not sure where the problem lies and hopefully someone here knows

I have a redtop S13 SR in my '97 S14 chassis the coolant temperature seemingly works on the gauge cluster, but displays it to show all the way hot at operating temperature moving up as it warms up as expected.

I have replaced the temp sensor twice with all three(including original) having the same problem. leading me to a wiring issue. Now either the wiring harness has something wrong(possible but unlikely since it reads temperature..) or there is a difference in the way the gauge on the cluster reads the sensors between motors..

Any one have any ideas/solutions or also seen this problem? :s101:

my friend has an issue similar to yours. his temp guage goes almost all the way hot but stops in the middle of the two last lines. it doesn't run hot or anything, he just reads the temp guage as being functional between those two lines. so as long as it doesn't get more than like 3/4 of the way to the next line, it's fine. i would recommend a seperate temp guage though. mine read a little warmer than usual and the engine overheated. can't trust the stock guage for an sr

S14 chassis so you'd have to use an S14 water temp GAUGE sensor. Its the single prong water temp sensor, not the 2 prong one. Make sure it matches the chassis...
