what would you guys charge someone to do there blacktop sr swap into a 95 240, and to convert it to a manual?

he buys everything, i just do it.

Are you putting his harness together as well?

and is this a friend or some random person?

i would think about charging hourly

he is sending the harness to wiring specialties and he is a friend i met not too long ago

If its for a friend, I usually tell them to throw a nice BBQ on the day of the swap.. I dont do swaps for random peeps..Just talk to your buddy on how you wana work it out.

If it's for a really good friend, I usually just ask for a small BBQ and some blue moons, anyone else I usually ask them to call a couple shops get quotes and I do it for a little less than a shop would do it

Depends on how much work. My old roomate and I used to charge about $1k for a swap. That covers labor, wiring, lil miscellaneous stuff like oil, filter, hoses, coolant, etc. We'd make more money if we get the engine ourselves...get an engine set for about $13-1500, charge them $3k even for a turn key swap.
