Currently I am running a 235/40/18 rear tire on my Works. It is a pretty good stretch in my opinion and looking to see if I can fit a wider tire without modding my fenders anymore for now, and no rubbing issues. Looking the widest I can fit. IIRC my fenders have a little roll with Eibach springs I believe. I need new tires soon and don't want a stretch look right now. Here are some pictures. Thanks guys.

Get a plumb and see how much space you have between where the tire is and where the plumb line is at. Should give you an idea of how much space you have. If you have lets say...10mm space, then you can go 20mm wider tires. Look at a tire calculator online and get an idea of what size tires you can get while keeping the overall diameter the same.
Looking at your pix, is your fender rolled? If its not, you might wanna do that before you slap on some wider tires. I'd probably slap some 255s in there...

Cool. That makes a lot of sense. Fenders are rolled. Might need a slight pull. Just trying to get the widest tire I can get in there without doing too much fender work. Any other ideas?

What about the width? Or do I just need overall diameter?

How about you just lower the car 3 inches leave the tires alone?

the40sondec haha.
I need new tires that's the thing. Was planning on lowering it more but running into a little speed hump on those, so that's going have to wait for now lol. unless you got some coilovers for me to buy haha.
I believe the rear are 10.5 +24? I forget, got them a while ago.
Im thinking 275/35 or 265/35 by the looks of the tire calculator....still not sure what to run

Take a rear photo for us. One of our S14's is running 18x10.5 +12 in the rear with 225 tires. We could possibly fit 245's without pulling. The fenders are rolled flat.

are you going to leave the factory camber squat or get an alignment and adjustable arms to bring it back closer to zero?? if so a 265/35 and maybe a 275/35 will fit if you leave it but if you stand them straight up especially when going a bit lower than you are currently then you might only be able to get away with only a 255/35 which I had to do on my 18x10.5 dumped with alignment on a factory rolled-nonpulled fender
I ask only because putting a bigger tire on is for traction right ? otherwise you are just using half of a more expensive tire with unnecessary camber when improperly aligned

I have my adjustable Yamato RUCA and SPL Toe arms. Not installed yet. Not going to go any lower for now. and yea I'm looking for more traction. Going to get an alignment when everything in and try and get it as close to spec as i can. Does that sound possible with the fender mods i have now? If I have to roll and pull more then i will. Not looking to run too much negative camber.

well if you are up for more of a roll and a pull then it shouldnt be an issue either way then if it needs it or not. Get those arms in an align it after the tires are mounted and see how it looks. You only benefit from a larger tire if it is aligned properly for wear and traction obviously

Yea exactly. Im just trying to get the widest tire i can fit without further modifying the fender for now. How you guys do it when you go get it aligned and if they cant get it aligned enough due to rubbing etc, you guys just get it aligned as best as possible then go back to the shop after you do your fenders? lol.
