I have a jdm parking pole complete, except without the wiring harness and switch for my s13 silvia. I wasn't sure if it was working so I gave it to a local mechanic to have a look at it, and he said that he tested it and it wasn't working.

Who knows what he did to test it but I decided to have a look. I removed the dc motor from the housing and it appeared to be a bit old so I figured I might as well replace it... but I didn't know the current specs on the motor so I bought one from an electrical store that was the same size and setup. Specs on the new motor are: 12 volt dc motor, 180g/cm @ 8100 rpm's. Not sure if this is too little or too much to move the parking pole up and down but I would like to know how to test it?

There are four wires that need to be wired, a blue, yellow and ground wire (coming from the dc motor) as well as a red wire (which I think is wired to the light at the top of the pole, as well as another black ground wire.

Can I use a car battery to test this? Any explanation of how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

I can add photos if that will help?
