Hey guys, first off, I hate my life (it hates me back) and everything always goes wrong for me; I'm chalk full of random.

Recently my 1995 240sx stopped starting for me and I had to resort to banging on the starter/solenoid to keep driving. That worked for a while and now it's finally given up on me.

I have a new starter sitting here and I figured I could do it on my own as I've replaced other starters before. This 240 though has me at my wits end. I can only see two screws (one is missing at random) and I cannot access the third one from any angle. How am I supposed to get behind this shit? The throttle body seems to be right in the way from the top and I can't even come close to locating it from underneath.

This is supposed to be a 20 minute job and I can't even get started (har har... just noticed this while reading my post over before posting).

I took some pictures as mine doesn't seem to look like others' I have googled (mine might be a 1997 motor though I didn't think they were different).

Picture 1: Top down looking at the two (one really lol) accessible screws from the hood.

Picture 2: Trying to look at the starter head on while in the engine bay to see if I could even get a glimpse of the third bolt.

Picture 3: This is my view from under the car and maybe I'm blind, but I can't see it anywhere. Also, why is that random connector not connected lol (circled red object)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as taking it to a mechanic isn't my first choice as I'm very broke at the moment and need the car running to make any money. I already had to borrow money to get the starter/solenoid :(

If this is in the wrong place, I'm very sorry as I didn't see an other forum area that made any more sense than engine tech.

The starter is held in with two of the bellhousing bolts, 14mm head. Removed from the back side of the engine, from underneath, the starter drops right out. There are no screws anywhere unless you're trying to remove just the solenoid.

Yup, your best way to pop it off is from underneat the car. You can disconnect the wires and plugs to it from under too. Saves you wrist from contorting under the manifold if you try to do it from the engine bay.
