BMW power vs SR?

So as much as I love the SR20DET, I was considering putting a BMW engine in instead. Like the S52B32 or the S54B32. Assuming those will be cheaper cause they're from 1995-2002. I was planning on a SR20DET originally. But the BMW engines can produce a lot more.
Any opinions/thoughts??

Those engines are definitely not cheaper.

Yea, I realized they would cost more haha. I want to do it, but might stick with an SR first then do something like that later on

If you want a BMW engine, you may as well get a BMW and have the better platform.
