Ok, So I have a 1996 240sx that was swapped over to 300zx brakes before I bought it. I'm planning on running a Et street drag radial on the rears and would like to get welds for the rear. I heard though that the rims wont clear my brakes. So I was going to change the rear brakes back to 240sx oem. If I went to a parts store and bought oem calipers for a 1997 would they just bolt on and would i need to change the rotors?
The only other option to this is if i knew a correct backspacing on the rim to clear the 300zx brakes...which I would rather do than switching back to oem.
Thanks for any help,

You want to get welds for the rear? (Im assuming you mean the rim right?) Im sure you can just get your rims made with a more aggressive offset.
Also things you should know z32 brakes use different rotors and cables for the e brake.
so if you wanted to convert it back, you just need stock brakes (Lines, cables, rotors, pads, calipers)
IMO id keep your z32's in the rear and just get a bigger rim. I've personally never had a problem with my brake clearance but Ive also used aftermarket wheels.
I hope that helps

See I'd rather keep the brakes but I can only go with a weld 15 inch rim to fit the street slick. So it would have to be a weld rim With the right backspacing and I'm totally lost on what backspacing I'm not a rim guru lol

backspacing is the distance from the rear rim edge of your wheel. For rims that measure using backspacing, the width from bead to bead is the size that you are usually told, but the width from rim edge to edge is usually one inch more. So, for example, if you have a 15 x 8 inch rim, you have a 9 inch width from edge to edge and 8 inch width from bead to bead. If you want let's say a 0 offset on that same wheel, you would ask for a 4.5" backspace as you also have to account for the extra half inch after the bead on either side of the wheel. Hope that helps.
