Hey! My name is Ally(I have a bit of a better intro here: http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/425894-eliza-project-rhd-87-z31.html).

In anycase, the long and short of it is that I have an 87 Z31. I'm a diesel engine mechanic by trade and since I've always wanted a Z I picked one up as my first project car. I was wondering if there was anyone on/around Kadena willing to help set me up with places to get parts/reputable mechanics/a decent place to buy TOOLS/etc.

Thanks!:trogdor:

Take it to B&M, that is if Bill will touch it.

And have fun if you get on that forum.

Thanks for the heads up! It seems Okinawa isn't as small and by the way-side as I once thought!

There's a great shop near by, actually two that deal with old Z's. They dont speak any English but you can email them in Japanese and im sure they can help with the parts.

Proudear => PROUDEAR WORKS (http://www.proudear.com/)
Avante => ƒAƒoƒ“ƒe‚̃y[ƒW‚ց@‚悤‚±‚»™ (http://worldarts.co.jp/avante/) & blog => Avante (http://ameblo.jp/avanteauto/)

PM if you need any other help with this. I know both shops. Regulars at Fuji Speedway.

You want tools, theres a place called Astro Tools on 329 pass the backside of Futenma. If you sign up in ZY, look up Bret or click under Japan Section and the "previously stickied" section. Find the google map thread and there are a couple of maps in there that will show you anything and everything you need to know. Junkyards, shops, restaurants, bases, etc...all in there...

None...there's a couple place that does powder coating but its expensive. Most folks on ZY shipped their shit stateside or would just paint it.

Donnie (one of the most anal muffo's i've ever known) said he goes thru this company in Fuji...

Back to the OP, if you're new in Oki...you're best hook up/connection for shit is Josh at the Hobby Shop. Get to know him and he will intro you to anybody and everybody who can help you out there. Also, Z31 aint exactly the most popular chassis choice in Oki. Not a whole lot of them on island since most of them are rusted to shit. Hell, the chance of you finding cars down there that older than 1990 that are not rust buckets are slim. Oki salt just eats cars alive out there.
