Just go external. You won't regret it. It's worth the extra 300-350 bucks. ;)

I'm running the stock turbo setup on my S13 Blacktop SR20DET and was thinking about upgrading. How much extra cash would it be for the necessary parts to replace of the stock T25 that is already using a GReddy FMIC with this setup?
Thanks!

@voiddweller you would need a t28 oil drain return tube and it wouldnt hurt to get SS braided water lines and oil feed line

You would need turbo clocking flanges (Circuit Sports are 55$) and you can run either an S14/15 style drain tube and drain hose, or a GT style drain fitting with a hose.
If you have a stock o2 outlet you would want to grab an aftermarket one as they are slotted to work with both s13 style and s15 style 5 bolt turbine housings (they are slightly different)

my t28 just went out. How does this compare to the t28 in terms of characteristics. still fast spooling? about the same top end power?
will i be able to just swap out the t28 and insert this? I have a redtop sr20

I have ran both journal bearing and ball bearing and the S15 turbo is SO WORTH IT!!!! it is noticable the faster spool and a little extra power on top end..
I love this turbo...

If you currently have an S14 or S15 T28 on your S13 SR20, this will bolt on. The compressor housing and center section orientation are the same, also the o2 outlet would be the same.
